Lovely pictures!!! I absolutely love the one with Jetsun Pema and her baby boy! The baby is still young to tell who he looks like, but to me, he looks quite different from his older brother when he was born. Little Jigme looks a bit like his father (but with mother's lips), and I think this baby will take after his mother.

I'm glad we finally got some photos of the beautiful little prince! Little Jigme seems to be very pleased with his baby brother too. They're a lovely family -looking forward into hearing the name.

Queen Mother Tshering Pem Wangchuck made a contribution of 12 Million Ngultrum (approx. 158,000 USD) to His Majesty’s Kidu Fund for the welfare of the Bhutanese people in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in Thimphu, Bhutan.

And the name of the Prince is Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck.

His Royal Highness will be referred to as Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck.

The King and the Queen graced the Trelda Tsechu prayer ceremony at Thimphu Tashichodzong, and offered prayers along with Their Royal Highnesses Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel and Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck.

Just saw it on their Instagram account. So lovely!!! Ugyen is often used in the royal family, so there's nothing too surprising about it. But, it's indeed lovely.

Ugyen is the name of the first dragon king of Bhutan. He was the great-great grandfather of the current king.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugyen_Wangchuck

He shares the name with his father's half brother (son of Queen Tshering). It also happens to be the name of his mother's paternal grandfather.

Fitting choice. His brother was named after the unifier of Bhutan and now he is named for the first king.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngawang_Namgyal

The photos are beautiful. So glad I logged in on my coffee break. Have been waiting to hear his name. And I always love seeing photos of this country and this family as well. Its stunning.

The little prince has a cousin with exactly the same name and an uncle with the same name in a different order; so very traditional. Jigme (meaning: fearless) is the name of all but the first Druk Gyalpo - whose name was Ugyen (meaning: crown).

By announcing that their son will be known as 'Ugyen Wangchuck' he will be known by exactly the same name is the first Druk Gyalpo; while their eldest son has the same name as the first Druk Gyalpo's father...

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the current king, of course descents from these men but Jetsun Pema also descends from the first Druk Gyalpo's father; as she is a descendent of Ugyen Wangchuck's younger sister.

Jigme Namgyal (1825-1881) - Ugyen Wangchuck (1st king/Druk Gyalpo) (1862-1926) - Jigme Wangchuck* (1905-1952) - Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (1929-1972) - Jigme Singye Wangchuck (1955) - Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck (1980)

Jigme Namgyal (1825-1881) - Yeshay Choden - Desho Dorji - Thinley Namgyal* - Sonam Choki - Jetsun Pema (1990)

* Jigme Wangchuck's wives (Phuntso Choden (great-grandmother of the current king) and Pema Dechen) were half-sisters of Thingley Namgyal (Jetsun Pema's maternal grandfather)

Here's a guide on how to pronounce Ugyen for those who are unsure:

Little Ugyen is a beautiful baby! He's so tiny.
