Luxembourg Grand Ducal Family, Current Events Part 5: September 2017 - present

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
It is good that the children of Felix and Claire begin to appear more. It will probably be one of them that will inherit the throne of the Grand Duchy.

I still have hope for Stephanie and Guillaume that they will be able to have children. I still keep my fingers crossed.

Me too . The unexplained absence of the Hed Grand Dukes could be the absence of Grand duchess MT at Count de Lannoy's funeral preferring a Paris Event where we saw her smiling.

Grand Duke Henri, with Prince Sébastien, assisted in his function as Chief of the Army, at the military farewell ceremony at the Grand-Duc Jean barracks to pay a final tribute to the two non-commissioned officers who died during the tragic accident at ammunition depot at Waldhaff.

I suppose the Grand Duchess is in Paris ?
I wonder if the Hed Grand Dukes will attend the Octave this year ?

As the Grand Duke , the Grand Duchesse wears a Decoration but from which Order ?

Grand Duchess MT wore a coat to put on the left side her decoration.I never saw a consort doing that. I supoose she wore a luwembourger Order but not the same as the
Grand Duke.

:previous: Could GD Henri and GD Maria Teresa be wearing French orders?

Henri's pin has a red stone which could be for the Order of the Legion of Honour.
MT's has a blue stone which could be for the Order of National Merit.

I don't know the other options if someone doesn't use the sash, star, badge, etc.

Shouldn't Guillaume and Stephanie have voted in the UK as they are currently living in London? Or can they choose whether to vote in Luxembourg or the UK (as long as they only vote once)?

I always find it interesting that the GDF makes an official occasion out of the family going to vote since here in Britain it's always controversial whenever royalty and politics mix. I guess they're not stating their political views publicly whilst they do so, though!

Both the Belgian and Luxembourg royals vote. I believe they are just fulfilling their duty as they have to vote (it's obligatory - only the head of state (and spouse) are apparently exempt). Photographers would be waiting for them at the polling station, so I guess the Luxembourg grandducal family prefers these street pictures.

They can vote in either place, it depends on where they register to vote.

If you’re an EU citizen living in the UK
If you’re a citizen of an EU country (other than the UK, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus) who’s resident in the UK, you can vote in either the UK or your home country.
If you want to vote in the UK you must be registered to vote. Contact electoral authorities in your home country (where you’re a citizen) if you want to vote there.

I think one of the reasons is likely to encourage people to get out and vote. Seeing public figures voting, may encourage others to.

And like said, they aren't promoting any actual politicians or views. Just the actual act of voting nd being active in how things are done.

In Luxembourg it is mandatory for anyone who is a registered voter, to vote (unless over 75 or they are living outside their community). In Belgium you are automatically registered at 18 and its mandatory.

Seems like a good move as the photographers and media would also probably be able to get information on what political stance members of the GDF take, so it's best they have a photocall this way.

On June 21st, Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Felix, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra, and Prince Sebastien attended a reception at Berg Castle for inhabitants of the municipality of Colmar-Berg.

His Royal Highnesses, the Grand Duke, Prince Felix and Princess Claire, accompanied by their sons, as well as Prince Louis and Prince Guillaume attended the Mass celebrated in memory of the deceased members of the Grand Ducal Family.

i see some resemblance between princess claire and the duchess of cambridge. their sartorial choices are fairly similar, as seem to be are their characters and even their backgrounds.

amalia is a claire mini-me. glad to see how much she's grown! :)

For one moment I thought Louis had brought his sons because Felix and Claire have a daughter and a son but it were indeed Felix and Claire's children that joined the family for this memorial mass.

Is it the first time they join their parents for such an occasion (other than being at the balcony)? If so, it might be a first small step in preparing Amalia for her potential role as future heiress.

I also think it may be the beginning of Princess Amalia's preparation as heiress of Luxembourg. So over time she gets to know the habits and traditions of family and Luxembourg.

If Amalia will be the heiress in Luxemburg, will be it official announced? And if yes, than when?

i don't think it would be announced. in fact, as it stands, guillaume is the next in line, followed by felix, followed by amalia, so it is a matter of going through the list of succession in due time, and if it ever reaches felix, and if guillaume becomes GD with no issue then we'd know it may be amalia that becomes grand duchess one day. i highly doubt they'd announce that as it would put guillaume and stephanie in an awkward situation towards the public eye.
