about luxembourg's national day:
22-23 June 2004
Towards the end of June the Grand Duchy celebrates its National Day. Rather like New Year's Eve, the National Day party is held the night before (22 June). The capital is hopping and a traditional torchlight parade takes place after sundown in the city centre, while spectacular fireworks are set off from the bridge over the Petrusse Valley.
Crowds stake out viewing spots anywhere in the city centre, in the valley, or near the bridge. There's music too, with rock, pop, and other bands performing until late in the city's two main squares, the Knuedler (Place Guillaume) and the Place d'Armes, and plenty of opportunities to spend spare change on sausages, beers, soft drinks, neon-light necklaces and other party fare.
While the capital hosts the biggest party, there are National Day celebrations and torchlight parades in other towns too, including Beaufort, Dudelange, Erpeldange, Ettelbruck, Hosingen, Mersch, Reisdorf, Schifflange, Tetange and Wiltz, while at least three other towns - Diekirch, Esch-sur-Alzette and Kayl - have their own fireworks.
National Day, 23 June, is a far more solemn event, with a Te Deum sung in the cathedral, a canonade and a military parade.

Nassau-Weilburg is effectively extinct... The current Grand Ducal Family members are agnates of the House of Bourbon of the Parma line.
Am I the only one who thinks they should be Bourbon-Nassau?

No you are not alone. I would second that notion!

Hey !!!
Hi everybody !
No, sorry, I'm still here, but busy with my work (I'm a violinist and I often travel. And moreover, my boyfriend is a conductor, so, we are always on the road.). But I did not forget you, friends of the Lux Royals, and I've just read that you were all wondering if I told Guillaume to come here ?
Well, I did not, because I saw him just 5 or 10 minutes at a reception for the Conservatoire and in April in Esch for Davis Cup.
Nice guy, but I found he has put on weight, but very nice to meet him. His brother... VERYYYYYYYYYYY handsome, God !!! But I did not have so many relations with him.
i did not know if this year the Lux were at Cabasson, in France, where they have a house.
So, here it was I can tell you.
Bis bald, dear Luxemburgerfreundlichen !

Question about this family
Is this a non-ruling royal family?
