Thank you very much Poppy for posting these lovely videos. I have only recently taken an interest in the Imperial family of Japan and of the Japanese culture and am really enjoying learning about it.

Thank you once again Poppy for posting such wonderful videos! I have never before seen footage of the Imperial Enthronement and sat in awe watching it! All enthronements and coronations are rare events, but the Japanese ceremonies are so unusual and intriguing I never thought I would see it! :flowers:

Thank you Poppy for posting these videos. They are fantastic really. I don't speak Japenese too bad!! Would love to understand the speaker but the images are quite self explanitory :)! I am not sure I understand exactly what goes on in the wedding ceremony ? It is first shown as if traditional kimonos are worn to go into a home and then for other ceremonies men are wearing westen toxidos and women their lovely kimonos for the dinner party, and then in others the white dress. I guess the Imperial wedding goes through many ceremonies right? And then I saw them displaying big beautifull fish, and some boxes ? what's in them ? as I am sure it is a gesture of a great meaning, of course, in some countries they offer dates, in others choclates.. Anyway as I said would have really loved speaking japanese!! Thanks again.

Crown Prince Naruhito, his daughter Princess Aiko and (SURPRISE!) Crown Princess Masako!!! I think this was taken last year...they are walking through the Tokyo train station...the Crown Princess looks so lovely and happy as does her daughter. I love how they are all wearing matching outfits too!

Tea party for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games athletes in July 2014. Apparently Princess Aiko is a fan of figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu and likes his axel jump.
