Here is a pic of Princess Sayako (I prefer her "old" name of Princess Nori) wearing a diamond tiara...

Sayako is her first name.
Nori-no-miya is not really a name. It's a honourific title but you can put the imperial title Princess infront of it.

Sayako is personal name (first name).
Nori-no-miya is the title (childhood name) and is given only to the children of an emperor and the crown Prince.
it is called like first name in English.
childhood name of emperor Akihito's children
prince Naruhito : Hiro-no-miya
prince Akishino : Aya-no-miya
princess Sayako : Nori-no-miya
crown prince Naruhito's child
princess Aiko : Toshi-no-miya

Now this has happened a long time ago... Obviously it is Princess Sayako´s coming of age ceremony. I think she is so very cute.

Actually, it's not Coming of Age ceremony (Seijin no Hi) which is at the age of 20 years old in Japan, ChiaraC.
This is HIH the Princess Nori's Chakko no Gi ceremony which marks an Imperial child reaching the age of five.
Similar to Shichigosan festival for ordinary children, the Imperial child dons a special hakama skirt and prays at an Imperial palace sanctuary and greets the Emperor and Empress.

Well, thanks for putting this right. I meant the ceremony that also Princess Aiko went through already (pretty in pink ) and thought that I had read someone in this forum calling that "coming-of-age"-ceremony. And maybe someone did. Or it is just my imagination, who knows...
