Princess Hisako is one of the busiest members of the Japanese Imperial family. It is always a pleasure to see her attending various events.

You're welcome! I wish there were more press on the extended family. The Hitachi, Mikasa, and Takamado events mostly appear in the weekly summaries and usually without photos. :ermm:

Can someone tell me who this man is with the Princess?

It is great to see Princess Tsugiko undertaking a solo engagement. Her public appearances are somewhat rare: ceremonies and functions at the Imperial Palace.

I agree. It's wonderful to see her at solo event since most of the younger Imperial princesses don't get much engagements. They're either in university or working elsewhere although Princess Akiko of Mikasa is fairly visible.

On July 28th, Princess Hisako attended the ceremony and reception for the “Advanced Technology Award” at Meiji Memorial Hall, Tokyo. It appears the winner was “object fingerprint” technology in cancer research (I’m not sure. Translation was weird). Additional honors were awarded in medical and communication technology research. The award is sponsored by Fuji Sankei Business, Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry saving, Fuji Television Network, Sankei Shimbun, and Nippon Broadcasting System.

On July 29th, Princess Hisako departed from Haneda Airport for the Netherlands. On August 4th, Princess Hisako attended the opening ceremony of the 47th National Moms Volleyball Tournament which is held in Fukushima this year.

There’s a fun video of the princess participating in a warm up routine at the Osaka Moms Volleyball Federation's Facebook page:

She's a bit hard to locate at first but she's wearing a printed skirt suit next to the demonstrator.

ETA: According to Asahi, Princess Hisako is the honorary president and there are no games on the first day which is for the opening ceremony, greetings, and such. The actual competition runs from August 5-7th. Each prefecture had one team except for host prefecture Fukushima which had two.
