Here's the relationship:
Emperor Taisho > Prince Mikasa (Takahito) > Prince Takamado (Norihito) married to Princess Takamado (Hisako)
Emperor Taisho > Emperor Showa (Hirohito) > Emperor Akihito

Thanks for the pics of Princess Tsuguko, mandyy.  I love this princess. It's so seldom that we see any pics or articles on the younger Imperial princesses (except for Aiko)- it's always a delight!

On Saturday 7 October, a gala dinner was held in Tokyo where Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado of Japan, Honorary President of BirdLife International, launched a campaign to support BirdLife’s initiative to rescue Asia’s ailing vulture populations. Her Imperial Highness spoke of the importance of BirdLife’s quick actions to save vultures in the region.

Tokyo's Okura Hotel has invited key representatives from 10 nations to display their own horticultural heritages in the 11th Annual World Gardening Fair on May 1-5 2010.
The event will be opened by HIH the Princess Takamado-no-miya Hisako and all proceeds are to go to the Save the Children charity.

The Princess Takamado meets the FIFA World Cup Trophy in Tokyo
The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola finished its whistle stop tour of Asia on 26 April by visiting Korea Republic and Japan, two teams who are taking part in South Africa 2010.
In Tokyo, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour was accompanied by the former Japanese footballer Hidetoshi Nakata when it touched down on 23 April. Despite the rain, more than 100 media attended the welcoming ceremony at Naneda Airport. Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, the Honorary Patron of Japanese Football Association was present at the event hosted by Coca-Cola and South African Embassy to unveil the Trophy.

An exibition of Princess Takamado's paintings in Canadian embassy
An exhibition of Princess Takamado's oil paintings is under way at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo to mark the seventh anniversary of the naming of the embassy's art gallery after her late husband.
The exhibition, which opened Thursday and will run through June 23, is titled "Picture Diary: Princess Takamado Painting Exhibition."- The Yomiuri Shimbun

Princess Takamado plants tree at Pakistan Embassy
HIH the Princess Takamado, honorary President of the Ikebana International performed tree plantation at the Pakistan Embassy in Tokyo on May 12th 2010.
Speaking on the occasion, the princess said that the smell of the tree (Sakura flower-Cherry) would further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the governments and the people of Japan and Pakistan in the times to come. - AP of Pakistan

HIH the Princess Takamado, a member of the Imperial Household, will be visiting SOS Children's Villages at Rustenburg, South Africa, during the 2010 World Cup.
The visit will take place on June 24 in the run-up to the Japan-Denmark match. With the princess will be high-level political representatives from Japan and South Africa.
