On June 30th, Princess Hisako hosted a garden party for the Japan National Student Association (JNSA) Fund at her residence. She is honorary patron of JNSA Fund which administers the Takamado Cup All Japan Junior High School English Speech Contest.

As the concert opened, The King’s Singers took the stage and, in an utmost display of respect, faced her Imperial Highness and performed “Kimi Ga Yo,” the Japanese national anthem. The balance of six voices created by the two countertenors, tenor, two baritones, and base vocalists created a magnetic atmosphere.
The all-male group subsequently charmed the crowd throughout the two-hour performance. Tenor Julian Gregory’s mother is Japanese, which encouraged a personal connection with the audience that was at play from the first notes. The affection and respect for their host country shone through to the end as all six members participated in explaining the program to the audience exclusively in Japanese.
Gregory said to the audience, “We are overjoyed to be able to celebrate Japan’s new Reiwa era with all of you.”

The program reflected the aim of celebrating the new Reiwa era and the link between the United Kingdom and Japan. The first half of the repertoire was taken from English royal music through the last 500 years. It began in 1515, with a song that was popularly attributed to Henry VIII, and gradually came closer to current times, ending with a 20th-century jazz exponent arranged by Richard Rodney Bennett, “The Season of his Mercies.”
The second half included songs taken from The King’s Singers repertoire over the past 50 years since the group’s founding. The highlight was a song specially arranged for the evening using the lyrics of a poem by Empress Emerita Michiko, “Nemunoki no Komoriuta,” written in 1966, with music composed by Masami Yamamoto.

After the concert, the group had an opportunity to meet Princess Takamado, who spoke to them in perfect English and complimented them on their performance.

Uezu wins 2nd consecutive JNSA Intercollegiate English Oratorical Contest - The Japan News

Princess Hisako is reappointed Honorary President of Japan Sea Cadet Federation on August 1st. Ayako Moriya resigned as Honorary President on July 31st but she'll become Honorary Vice President. According to the IHA, the Japan Sea Cadet Federation requested Princess Hisako to be Honorary President.

It's an intriguing rumor, especially when you consider the visible warmth exhibited between Hisako, Tsguko and Masako during the formal greetings at Naruhito's ascension ceremonies. That was the only time Masako looked relaxed during the entire family greetings, and I wondered then about what it might indicate regarding private relationships. It will be interesting to see if Ayako continues to take on a more public role, and what that might hint at in terms of more prominent roles for other former princesses.

Rumor seems to be true as fnn.jp is now reporting Ayako Moriya's pregnancy and she's due autumn/winter 2019. The last time a former princess had a child was Masako Sen, Prince Mikasa's 2nd daughter, some 30 years ago.
FNN is a major network so the news should be legit. Congratulations to the Takamado and Moriya families!

I wonder what caused this turnaround within less than a year of the wedding. There were surely some in the IHA who were placing their hopes on the test run of this new arrangement, with a former princess carrying over some patronages, as part of a resolution to the problem of the shrinking imperial family. But apparently this solution did not meet the requirements of the Federation, Ms. Moriya or both.

I believe someone here mentioned a report or rumor that Noriko Senge had a child. Did that turn out not to be correct?

Ayako still has the Canada-Japan Society patronage for now. I'm not sure what happened to her research position at Josai International University's Faculty of Social Work Studies after marriage. Maybe Ayako thinks she cannot manage 2 patronages and other activities/work especially with a baby coming. She studied in Canada for a few years so I can see her choosing to keep Canada-Japan Society over Japan Sea Cadet Federation.
Yes, it appears the rumor about Noriko having a child was false. There are rumors about Noriko's marriage. It was noticed that Kunimaro Senge did not accompany Noriko to family events such as Prince Mikasa's funeral or Prince Takamado's memorial anniversaries. She allegedly returns to Tokyo frequently. However, some say Kunimaro is busy managing his family's various shrine branches and the couple are fine. They're simply a couple that don't need to go everywhere together.
