Welcome, little one!

Congratulations to parents, grandparents and great-grandparents!

It's Princess Hisako debut as a grandmother, isn't it?
AFAIK, Noriko Senge doesn't have children.

And Princess Yuriko at least fifth great-grandchild?
At the moment of her husbands' death it was mentioned that they have had four great-grandchildren (probably their eldest grandson Tadahiro Konoe had fourth child).
Few months after the death of Tadahiro, Prince Mikasa their other granddaughter Makiko Sen married Munehiro Sakata, so she may already have a child of her own.

Yes, the baby is Princess Hisako's first grandchild.

From Tadahiro Konoe's Japanese wikipedia page, he has 4 children with wife Keiko Kuni.

ETA: Moriya baby boy is Princess Yuriko's 6th great-grandchild.

Makiko Sakata gave birth to a girl on August 21, 2019 (Reiwa 1) in Kyoto. First grandchild for Sōshitsu Sen XVI and Masako Sen.

Due to Ayako's baby news, we get more footage of the Moriyas and Noriko at the recent enthronement events. I don't know if it's normal for the IHA to announce news about a former royal. Maybe everyone's excited because it's been so long since the last ex-royal baby 29 years ago (Masako Sen's second son born in 1990).

Understandable Yuriko missed it if cold weather. She is 96.

Sad to think she has not only outlived her husband but all 3 of her sons. Only her 2 daughters are alive.Sad since she is 96 and her husband died at 100, their sons died so young (2 at 66 and one at 47).

Your timing is excellent.

On December 2nd, the IHA reported Ayako and Kei Moriya's son is named 穣
pronounced じょう which I've seen a variety of translations: Jyo, Jiyo, Jou, Jō

Sources: Asahi, Yomiuri

穣 also means good crops, prosperity, 10^28 (ten octillion)

I wonder if the little one's name is supposed to be Jo as in Joe/Joseph?

Its a big trend in japan that baby names are influenced by the west (Like Rena/Lena or Rina/Lina or Reo/Leo).
