Minus the ugly overpowering necklace its not a bad looking outfit.

A bit bland but we have seen worse lately. As is tradition with Natan it does have a lot of wrinkles.

I like the dress, and while I'm not a fan of the clunky necklace, it isn't as bad as some of her costume jewelry. I agree with Marengo that wrinkles seem to be a feature of a lot of Natan outfits.

Beyond the hiddeous necklace, I love the look, especially the hat.

The design/shape of the top makes it look unflattering and the pants are check over kill,at least Queen Maxima did something with her hair today.

Oh no!!!not thatvoants again;the tope isn't any better...but a plus for the hair

That top is not at all attractive with those trousers, and the color is kind of blergh, too. Hard to judge the trousers since the sleeves on the top are so overwhelming. Her hair does look good, though.

I actually like the pattern of the pants. Tartan pants are great when done in a lovely neutral color like this.

But the shirt is terrible. And the volume of the shirt and pants are worse.

Her hair looks nice though.

It's Maxima and she does what makes her happy. I can't fault her for that. We all should be that happy with our lives.

Queen Maxima often gets it totally wrong... this is a typical example. Probably one of the most unflattering outfits I have seen her in. It looks decidedly "home made" using the wrong pattern. Badly cut trousers which are too far too wide and the balloon sleeves on the blouse are just awful. The colors also don't suit her...

Not a fan of this look from Maxima at all, but somehow she doesn't manage to make it look completely terrible!

Yes really lovely suit but the gale force hair is a total mess as usual.

I really like this outfit. Its very classic and doesn’t have weird sized trousers or sleeves plus the colour is lovely. Apart from tassles on the blouse is perfect. If anyone saw documentary on her UN work, she clearly doesn’t care too much her hair as up close as it looked awful or its damaged beyond help

Queen Máxima is well able to afford a decent hairstylist if she so wished, her mother in law never has a hair out of place and always looks impeccable where Máxima often looks like she rolled out of bed.

Last week the Queen ventilated her immense gratitude in having a husband whom leaves her completely free, trusts her judgements and encourages her to pursue her own interests, off the royal path.

In the interview at the eve of the kingship, the then Prince of Orange did admit a lot would change for him. But he hoped so much that Máxima would remain her true self, with all her talents. That the kingship would not change her.

In last week's documentary it was clear that the UN (and the Orange Fund) are total different worlds, parallel to the kingship. When she is escorting her husband, or performing an official duty, she is every inch The Queen, with hat, gloves, eye-popping jewels et al.

Her total opposite unpolished look seemed a deliberate choice to me. In the documentary I got the idea that the beatrixian model of an always polished and stylish royal, in total control of ceremonial and protocol, is suffocating her.

I got the impression Máxima simply needs periods of being her total chaotic self, to shine as an über-glamorous Queen when needed. She is what she is. Europe's most eclectic royal.

I am not a fan of this latest trend of over-sized clothing that ends up swallowing the wearer so it was nice to see Max in a nicely tailored suit. The color is great but the tassels are totally unnecessary. Considering this is Max, I have to admit that when I first saw the tassel my immediate thought was "Please tell me that is not the latest in tassel earrings"!

Monochromatic POW! look for a speaking engagement. I love it but the hair is very Parisian messy street style---not my favorite look, but legitimately chic in its own way and it seems to be a preference for her. I love this royal that wears giant insect brooches---she warms my little dark heart.?
