Royal and Other Magazines (PdeV, Majesty, Hello! etc)

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
:previous: Believe it or not the best place would be a metropolitan area's train station. They have kiosks with international press and they have all foreign magazines.
Unless you go on line and get a subscription:flowers:

Please note this is a discussion thread and not a picture-posting thread.
We have various "royals on magazine covers" threads so pics should be posted there.

thanks.

Here we go again. I suspect the bankruptcy declaration is in response to Marco Houston losing in court and he's trying to get out of paying any judgements. It's a shame that this magazine has gotten to such a low point. Years and years ago it was my favorite royal magazine.

As far as I'm concerned, the magazine was never the same once Marco Houston became the editor. The lowest point IMO was the issue that dealt with Princess Stephanie of Monaco's husband's stripper girlfriend. There were pictures in the magazine of the girlfriend at work! ROYALTY was my favourite as well for a few years.

I would speculate that Houston has had to settle as he is out of funds. Nevertheless costs and agreed damages could be near £1M

Think this will be the end of Royalty Magazine and Marco Houston

Royalty Magazine

No sign of any magazine for 3 months now. Has it gone bankrupt again? Does anyone know who the mailing agent is please?

You posted in another thread that the Magazine had gone bankrupt.
Wikipedia has no new information about the Magazine.
According to the website, the current issue is one or Princess Victoria's wedding.
There is an address at the bottom of the website

Royalty Magazine Bankrupt Again

I think that four of the publsihers and the editor have all been bankrupt actually. As the alst issue was dated Spetember & October and there is no November??? iss ue on the website I presume that it's gone bankrupt again.

They will pronably start up using another Houston family member or the Chinese guy who went bust in America Kai Gui.

If I understand wikipedia correctly, some think that there is a hate campaign against the editor, marco Houston. The campaign involved gay pornography and such. Very odd:

Statement: Statement 2010.10.11 - Royalty Magazine

It all sounds very odd.

Hmm, it does sound odd, but it does clear some suspicions I have.

Financed by Prince Paul

Well the most fascinating fact that has come out is that whilst Houston was battling away against Radu in the 5 year long libel lawsuit, Prince Paul lent him £2M. So Paul was effectively financing the lawsuit against Radu as well as the magazine. So now that the magazine's banker is about to foreclose it dosen't look good for my subscription.

Marco...what is your role in this? Are you a subscriber or the Marco who is listed as the editor?

Zonk, you have just asked the question I have been wanting to since last summer.

Coincidental I am definitely not the arch villiain. Seems as if the magazine has now closed as no sign whatsoever of any magazine now:bang:

I suppose that until there is somebody convicted we can;t point at any arch vilains yet ;).

Subscribers who have paid upfront for magazines that are obviously never going to be published might think that they know who the villain is:whistling:

If Royalty Magazine is bankrupt again then who pays:eek:

Well, its the cost of doing business really. There a lot of magazines who have folded with a list of subscribers. In addition, what about the advertisers.

The issue with Royalty is that they changed their focus in the last couple of years IMO. I used to prefer it to Majesty they had great up to date information, and fantastic historical articles. Something a true "royalist" like myself enjoyed reading. Then I guess in order to expand their base (which is a business reason and perfectly understandable) they started to focus on Hollywood celebrities...and frankly, they lost me in the process. I just purchased the most recent Majesty this past week as I do every month. Majesty had a nice article on the wedding of Alice and Harry of Gloucester (one of my favorite couples).

Good News

I have just received an e-mail from the magazine showing the cover of the latest issue which has William & Kate on the cover. I had given up hope as it is almost 4 months since the last issue. :flowers:

I have applied to get royalty magazine about the beginning of dec or the middle of december it is now January I have not recevied it how long does it take for them to deliver it and does any one have the number where I can call to check on it

I received the new issue with Kate and William on the front last week.

New issue

That's great news. I still haven't found a copy yet in thes shops. Strangely enough the official website for the magazine hasn't been updated and shows the previous issue from September 2010 as the the current one!

I picked up a copy of the wedding issue of Royalty today, so it's available here in the U.S.

Their proofreading hasn't improved much; Eliza Lopes was identified as "Eliza Lopez". :ermm:

"Hello" originally published two separate Royal Wedding Souvenir editions & have now produced a combined one consisting of a compilation of the previous two. Great if you haven't purchased the separate editions but irritating if you have.
