So, the leather pants are guaranteed to be silent on a hunting trip? The plaids are lovely. IMO, we are lucky to live in an age when the technical performance of fabrics has exploded in variety and quality. Still, I love a good merino sock.

Bernadotte & Kylberg has designed glasses for Synsam.
- We like what Synsam does and their desire to challenge the conventions, said Oscar Kylberg, CEO of Bernadotte & Kylberg, in a press release.
From Monday, Synsams stores get a little royal shine.
Behind a new collection that the chain rolls out, is design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg. It consists of Prince Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg.
The collection was presented in the morning in the presence of both Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg.
- We can not think of a better partner to create our first unique collection in line with our innovation efforts, said Håkan Lundstedt, President and CEO of Synsam, in a press release.

Håkan Lundstedt, the ceo of Synsam, is Daniel's longtime friend. It is also interesting, that Bernadotte & Kylberg now designed glasses, because Carl Philip's cousin Oscar Magnuson has for years designed glasses with his brand Oscar Magnuson.

Prince Carl Philip's company Cphb design AB reports a plus of a modest SEK 16,000 for 2017.
At the same time, Prince's subsidiary Bernadotte & Kylberg makes a profit of 1.3 million.
- It goes well for the company and you have many interesting future projects, said the court lawyer Axel Calissendorff, Chairman of the Prince's Cphb design AB.
In addition to his royal assignments, Prince Carl Philip puts considerable time in his career as a designer.
The Prince, together with his business colleague Oscar Kylberg, has produced products such as bowls, wine glasses and vases that are sold under the brand Bernadotte & Kylberg.
Carl Philip's own company, Cphb design AB, owns half of the shares in Bernadotte & Kylberg AB.

Prince Carl Philip's Million Startup Flop - halves the value
Prince Carl Philips Million Startup within VR has not been a success. Just one year after the investment, the value of the company is written down to half.
A year ago, Di Digital was able to reveal that Carl Philip was a startup investor.
Together with his business partner Oscar Kylberg, the prince runs a design company, Bernadotte & Kylberg, who invested SEK 1 million in an unnamed startup company in 2016.
- We have made an active investment in a company that develops VR software linked to design, said Oscar Kylberg.
VR stands for virtual reality, a computer technology that allows the user to interact with objects in a real or imagined environment. The investment was described as important by Oscar Kylberg, because the duo wants to push forward development in design.
Now, however, it turns out that the investment has become something of a failure. As development in the startup company has not gone as fast as expected, the duo has chosen to write down the value of the investment to half, SEK 500,000, Di Digital can reveal.
- The board has chosen to write down the value as a precautionary measure, writes Bernadotte & Kylberg in annual report for 2017.
When the investment was announced, Prince Carl Philip and Kylberg estimated that it would give "good profit within a year". But reality became the opposite.
Christina Saliba, who is responsible of the information of Bernadotte & Kylberg, does not want to state which startup company it is about.
- There is nothing more to add in addition to what is stated in the annual report, she writes in an email to Di Digital.

Why is Cphb AB chaired by a court lawyer ? I wonder why that constant mixing of Royal Court staff with private companies owned by the Bernadotte family doesn’t attract more criticism in Sweden.

I think it was you who I replied some time back about the same question. It might raise a few eyebrows but as long as it's on their spare time and there are no legal bias the people in question are free to do what they want.

It happens at other Courts as well. We may assume this is because these ladies or gentlemen have the full trust of the royals. A court lawyer must not be read as a lawyer in the service of the Court. It usually are lawyers working for respectable firms, wgich have been hired by the Court and are then requested to take a seat at the board of a company or a foundation.

Oscar Kylberg, the ceo of Bernadotte & Kylberg, releases in the autumn a children's book "Walther och det magiska ordet" (Walther and the Magic Word). The book is a tribute to the imagination - and to his son, Walther. The book will, in addition to the story itself, also contain a number of illustrations made by Oscar himself.

Prince Carl Philips design company Bernadotte & Kylberg is doing its worst result in three years.
Nevertheless, the company breathes confidence in the future.
"During the year, the company has had a positive increase in the number of new assignments, both Scandinavian and international", it is written in the recent public annual report for 2018.
Bernadotte & Kylberg was founded in 2011 by Prince Carl Philip and his friend and partner Oscar Kylberg.
After a sluggish start, it began to move so slowly in 2014 with a turnover of just under SEK 1.8 million. The following year reached SEK 4.7 million.
Over the next two years, revenues came to approximately SEK 3.5 million.
One big mistake was that one million SEK was invested in a so-called start-up company in 2016. The following year, the value was written down by half a million SEK
Bernadotte & Kylberg find it difficult to determine if the investment will give better results the future even if it looks dark at the moment.
In the annual report, you explain what is behind last year's decrease in sales. According to the company, there is a delay as a result of "the long lead times that prevail between approval of design until the product is in store and can start generating revenue."
Margareta Thorgren tells that she doesn't want to comment the balance sheet.

Prince Carl Philips' company Cphb design AB reported in 2018 its lowest turnover since its inception: SEK 19,500.
Something that is completely in order, according to the company's chairman Axel Calissendorf.
- It is an expression of long-term development.
In addition to his royal duties, Prince Carl Philip also has a career as a designer.
The Prince's company Cphb design AB conducts “design and graphic design with a focus on the consumer market”, according to the annual report.
Together with his colleague Oscar Kylberg, the prince has produced products such as bowls, wine glasses and vases sold under the Bernadotte & Kylberg brand. Prince's company Cphb design AB owns half of the shares in Bernadotte & Kylberg AB.
In 2018, Cphb design AB reports its lowest turnover since its inception in 2008.
The company has sales of SEK 19,534, according to the recently published annual report for 2018.
The company had the most sales in 2012: SEK 132,000. Since then, sales have fallen sharply. In 2017, the company had sales of just over SEK 25,000.
In 2018, Cphb design AB received a dividend from Bernadotte & Kylberg AB of SEK 100,000, which results in a profit of SEK 104,504. Otherwise, the operating profit for 2018 is only SEK 4,504.
Axel Calissendorff is Chairman of the Board of the company and believes that the low result is an expression of long-term development.
- It has to do with the fact that the prince from the beginning conducted his business activities in the form of design activities only in this company, Cphb AB. But gradually the business has moved to the business he runs with Oscar Kylberg in Bernadotte & Kylberg AB. There, the business is flourishing a bit more, says Axel Calissendorff.
He also says that the revenue contained in Cphb comes from old agreements on which the company earns royalties.
"The company's partnerships with Gense AB, Svenskt Tenn AB and Fiskars Sweden AB are progressing well and providing steady royalty income", read in the annual report for 2018.
- The new company has had a good development with successively increased sales, says Axel Calissendorff.
Margareta Thorgren announces that she doesn't want to comment on the prince's business.

Oscar Kylberg, the ceo of Bernadotte & Kylberg, was interviewed yesterday morning at TV4's News morning about his children's book "Walther och det magiska ordet" (Walther and the Magic Word). The book is a tribute to his son, Walther. The book will, in addition to the story itself, also contain a number of illustrations made by Oscar himself. Oscar told that ever since Walther was little, he was drawing with him a few times a week, so Walther has been with in making this book.
In a country far up in what is called the Norden lives a little boy. He lives in the middle of the big city called Stockholm. Near the boy's house is a park where the most wonderful things happen.
But none of this is known to the boy named Walther. Not yet. And neither do the adults, because they have long ago forgotten the magic word.
Oscar Kylberg comes from an artistic family and as a child he both wrote and drew a lot. Since 1999, Oscar has been working as a designer and his illustrations have been sold, among other things, as posters throughout the world through Ikea. In 2012, Oscar founded design firm Bernadotte & Kylberg together with Prince Carl Philip and together they have won several prestigious international awards for their design.
Walther och det magiska ordet is Oscar's debut as a children's book writer. He has both written and illustrated this fairy tale which is dedicated to his son Walther.

Bernadotte & Kylberg changes PR agency

Carl Philips design company chooses new PR agency - Saliba loses the assignment
Christina Saliba now loses also Prince Carl Philips' design company Bernadotte & Kylberg.
Prince Carl-Philip's design company Bernadotte & Kylberg, which he runs together with Oscar Kylberg, begins a new PR collaboration with Grand Relations. Thus, Christina Saliba, formerly at Mindmakers, loses the assignment. In June 2018, Christina Saliba announced that she would leave Mindmakers to invest in the venture capital company Invest in Her, a company she runs together with Camilla Läckberg. For a time, however, she continued to act as a PR consultant for, among others, Camilla Läckberg and Bernadotte & Kylberg, two parties who have now moved on with other PR collaborations.
Grand Relations' assignments for Bernadotte & Kylberg include strategic consulting, digital marketing and brand-building public relations work.
- After eight years, it's time for the next chapter of Bernadotte & Kylberg's journey. We have been looking for a PR consultant with strong roots in the international design scene who works actively with both digital and traditional communication. Grand Relations, with its cutting-edge expertise in the design industry and a solid international network, will be a natural partner for us, says Oscar Kylberg, CEO of Bernadotte & Kylberg, in a press release.
During its eight-years, the design company has worked with brands such as Hästens, Georg Jensen and Zweisel.
- We are very happy to welcome Bernadotte & Kylberg to us. They fit very well into our design portfolio with premium brands such as Carl Hansen & Son, Farrow & Ball, Foscarini, Fritz Hansen and Hästens. It will be very exciting to work with Bernadotte & Kylberg's future journey and communicate their design work and products in both the Scandinavian and global markets, Grand Relations' founders Hans Hjelmqvist and Tove Regnander say.

Expressen has investigated:

Carl Philip and his friend Oscar Kylberg didn't have to pay for the renovation at their new premises at the Royal Stables five years ago, the premises were renovated at the taxpayers' expense.
Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg wanted new premises for their company in 2015. The mediation was handled via Carl Philip's contacts, the Office of the Governor of the Palaces. Maria Uggla from the National Property Board says that The Royal Stables is covered by the Royal Right of Disposition, which means that tenants must be approved by the Office of the Governor.
Margareta Thorgren says that it is the King who ultimately decides who is allowed to rent within the royal right of disposition. There are several tenants who conduct business. The tenants pay market rents to the National Property Board.
The rooms at The Royal Stables required a major renovation, the cost SEK 1,037,711 plus VAT was paid by the National Property Board. Carl Philip's name is not seen in the emails between the NPB and Bernadotte & Kylberg. An email exchange requested by Expressen shows that Oscar Kylberg has taken care of the emails.
Expressen asked Oscar Kylberg, how did they get the chance to get into The Royal Stables and how much time Carl Philip spends at the studio? Kylberg says that they got there because Carl Philip could rent space there and because there was vacant rooms, suitable for their studio. They work full time with their company, sometimes there are calmer periods, but especially at new launches, they usually work more than full time.
The contract shows that B&K pays SEK 11,000 a month for 103 square meters studio, excluding VAT. The relatively moderate rent includes electricity, heating and water and sewerage costs. The rent level is determined on a commercial basis and has been paid throughout the rental period, says Maria Uggla.

Interesting. Do many business have premises on properties within the royal right of disposition and does the National Property Board routinely pay for the renovations?

It seems that the king is inclined to favor his family's business given that in the past he also had royal personal/cars pick up Chris O'Neill when he was on a business trip to Sweden.

Bernadotte & Kylberg design for @icehotelsweden 365! We are very excited about designing a whole new suite in snow and ice on site in Jukkasjärvi. More to follow during October…
https://www.instagram.com/p/CUE_M0HMVTb/

Bernadotte & Kylberg will design a room of ice and snow.
Usually Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg design utensils, textiles and home furnishings. Through their company Bernadotte & Kylberg they have been commissioned to create a suite at Icehotel Jukkasjärvi. During the autumn, they have worked on developing a concept.
- Creating a design concept and designing a room in a unique Swedish environment, on nature's own terms, is simply a project that we wanted to accept, says Oscar Kylberg.
They will complete the suite, starting on the first week of October. It is located at Icehotel 365, the part of the hotel that is open all year round, so the suite will remain longer than the winter season. The room will be bookable by night guests. But all hotel visitors can see the exhibition during the day until five o'clock. Then the room is closed to the public so that night guests can check in.
Carl Philip's and Oscar Kylberg's theme for the suite and the art will be made public in connection with the Ice Hotel's season opening.
