Jacob Högfeldt is Carl Philip's friend, they were at Lundsbergs school together. Jacob is the Mayor of Strängnäs Municipality and onwer of the Äleby Gård. Frida Vesterberg founded Project Playground with Sofia in 2010. So now Patrick Sommerlath is godfather for both Leonore and Julian. Victoria is godmother of Patrick's son Leopold, and Carl Philip and Madeleine are godparents to Patrick's twin daughters Anaïs and Chloe.

The godparents will be present during the christening and the subsequent lunch, which as a result of the pandemic has been limited and changed to include only those closest.
"In view of the prevailing pandemic, we have had to limit the number of invited guests to Drottningholm Palace Chapel. Also because of this, the reception and the lunch have been canceled. After the christening,there will be a private lunch with the immediate family and the godparents", writes court's information officer Ulrika Näsholm in an email to Expressen.

Margareta Thorgren said to Expressen that we are in a pandemic so there is a lot of security thinking around this baptism. Everything happens according to the Public Health Agency's restrictions regarding the number of participants, distance and such. The older siblings Alexander and Gabriel have also been christened in Drottningholm Palace Chapel and the ceremony itself will be equivalent to their christenings. Based on the restrictions, there will be a family lunch after the christening. It is not an official lunch. As planned, the entire royal family will participate.
Despite the royal splendor surrounding christening and the title of prince, Julian will not be a member of the Royal House, he is only part of the royal family. He doesn't get part of the apanage, but must in the future find his own livelihood. Julian's royal status doesn't affect the christening service or the ceremony in the chapel.
- It has nothing to do with christening. This is a prince who is christened on the basis that he is a member of the royal family. Therefore, the ceremony will be the same as for the other children, says Thorgren.

Ordenskanslern/The Clerk to the Office of the Order Svante Lindqvist is on the guest list, so obviously Julian gets The Order of the Seraphim.
No members of the King's family at the guest list. At the guest list are also court secretary Anita Söderlind (Carl Philip and Sofia's secretary), stylist Lotta Carlsen (Sofia's stylist), housekeeper Keria Said and nanny Rebecca Berg.

The reporter of Bunte was yesterday outside Drottningholm Palace Chapel and tells at this video, that Carl Philip, Sofia and their children came to the rehearsal. We can also see the godparents, only Patrick Sommerlath couldn't attend yesterday. The last preparations with flowers outside the Drottningholm Palace Chapel were also made.

Brittis Benzler, the governor of Halland County, told about the county's christening present:
- We have looked a little at how other county administrative boards have done. There have been quite a few princes and princesses who have become dukes and duchesses in recent years and then we have seen that the most common is a gift that can be used by many children, a fairytale path, a playground, a hiking trail or a ski trail or something similar. It has also been our thought, a gift that can of course delight and honor Prince Julian, but should also be to the delight of many children here in Halland. We will give him a playground that will be placed by the nature room that is on Getterön in Varberg municipality. There we plan to build a nice and exciting playground with a bird theme.
Andreas Norlén, the Speaker of the Riksdag, delivered the Riksdag's and Government's joint christening present. It is a fabric dog in wool that is designed by textile designer Kajsa Lindström.
- We wanted it to be a gift that is adapted for a small child, but at the same time also a personal gift, and also a gift that highlights Swedish craftsmanship in a nice way. I hope he will appreciate it, both he and the rest of the family!

Why are M's children not called Miss/Master O'Neill? I can't think of any other children of a Princess (other than Crown Princesses) who's children have royal titles other than M's.

The children of princess Margriet were made princes of Orange-Nassau in the late 60's (personal titles not inheritable - their father wasn't made a prince; so comparable to the children of Madeleine and Chris). They are highnesses instead of royal highnesses, which is comparable to how Denmark goes about the titles for children of younger siblings.

The children of princess Astrid were made princes and princesses of Belgium in the 90's. At that time king Baudouin wasn't sure that Philip would have children of his own and he most likely wanted to make sure that Astrid and her children were available instead of needing to rely on Laurent).

Master is not a Swedish title. If the O'Neill kids didn't have any royal titles they'd be Fröken (Miss) & Herr (Mister). In daily speech that wouldn't mean anything since Swedes are on a first-name basis with each other. The children carry titles because the changes to the Swedish Order of Succession in 1979 introduced absolute primogeniture meaning that the succession is gender-neutral and that all children born and raised according to the constitution have and transfer their rights of inheritance to their children if they in turn are born and raised according to the constitution.

Was Julian's order put on his baptismal gown (as with his brothers and cousins) or was it only presented on a cushion? So far, I haven't seen any pictures of him actually wearing it.

It's interesting (but not surprising) how they seem to kind of ignore the change in status and just state that as a prince of the royal family, he receives the same service (so including a crown and an order). Looks very much like, they keep getting all the benefits but are freed from any obligations; rather self-centered (not by the little prince of course but the king's actions related to his grandchildren).

Hopefully a royal reporter will inquire with the court about the King's reasoning for deeming his non-direct-line grandchildren to be members of the Royal House when it comes to the laws of orders, but non-members when it comes to compliance with the conditions established for princes and princesses of the Royal House in the Act of Succession.

I feel confident saying that people here in Sweden don't care about the order. I think that the King wants to treat prince Julian equally to his older brothers in many ways, and I don't disapprove. Neither one of them will be HRH's, but all of them has an order. They are all dukes, which in Sweden is just a honorary title.

My personal guess is that when the changes were made in 2018, there was an assumption that Adrienne was the last grandchild. Turns out she wasn't, and now they want to treat Julian the same way as his brothers and cousins, as far as possible.

I must admit that Sofia and Prince CP have a gorgeous family. Their eldest son is his mother's clone!

And I have said it many times before, but the Swedish Royal children all look as if they stepped straight from a storybook. And I LOVE the way they are always dressed impeccably.

Out of interest what is the “laying of hands” that the godparents participate in? I come from a Protestant background but we do not have godparents. Also in the photo you can see two who have not raised their hands, is there a reason why?

The priest, the parents and the godparents (it can differ between different priests) lay their hands over the one being baptised while praying and the reading of the blessing. The laying of hands has its root in the Old Testament.
I don't know why Patrick Sommerlath didn't raise his hand.
