The Swedish Royal Court tells about Crown Princess Victoria's two-day visit to the Netherlands:
The visit to the Netherlands ended with a meeting with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Princess Amalia.
No photos of the meeting.

Nice to know that she not only met Constantijn (as was previously announced) but also visit the king and her goddaughter.

It looks like she managed to get back (with Ariane I assume) as she had several visits today.
However, she won't be in the Netherlands for long as she is expected in Ivory Coast on Sunday for her first UN trip since Covid (2019).
Edit: she arrived yesterday (a day later than scheduled and with an additional delay of several hours) and went almost immediately to her planned engagement.

In today's media there is amazement about a gratie (royal mercy and grace, royal pardon) approved by the King for a former tv-show host whom was convicted for trafficking of cocaine.
For the convicted himself it was a surprise too: the request was more a wild and considered "useless" attempt by his partner to petition for a gratie.
In 2021 it has pleased His Majesty to approve his royal mercy and grace to 101 persons without condition and to 30 persons (with a remainder.
In 2021 the number of 320 petitions for royal mercy and grace were rejected. In 2021 the number of 206 requests did not make it to the bureau of the King, probably because not all formalities were correctly met.
Most of the 320 denied requests were because the conditions for royal mercy and grace were not fulfilled, most of these because there were still possibilities for an appeal (the chain from lower to higher Courts of Justice was not exhausted) "Justice has not finally and definitely spoken".
The King will approve a request for gratie when for an example a convict is seriously ill, or when maintaining the punishment no longer serves a reasonable purpose, or when new facts or circumstances have appeared and a Court of Justice was not able to take into consideration.
This is the Royal Decree with which the King approved gratie to the former TV-show host:

On social media the king and queen have congratulated cylist Annemiek van Vleuten with her 1st place in the Tour de France for women.
On social media it was noted that the royal congratulatory message contains a language mistake. For Dutch people: they talk about 'het behalen van een fantastische prestatie'. While the verb to go together with 'prestatie' is 'leveren'.

Rick Evers speculates that the text was not written by the RVD but by the Dienst Koninklijk Huis. Former nanny and now personal secretary Eveline van der Bent focusses on the topic of sports. Evers speculates that she may have written the message. It is not clear if the king and queen see these messages before they are posted.

I am sure they are either in Greece or Italy, where the family has properties.

Yesterday, September 9, Queen Máxima has sent a message to mark World Suicide Prevention Day:
Quote:
Each year in the Netherlands around 1,850 lives are lost to suicide. On World Suicide Prevention Day we have in our thoughts those who have died, those who have survived a suicide attempt, and everyone who has lost someone or has otherwise been affected by suicide. I wear a yellow ribbon to represent hope, and call on everyone to talk about mental health issues. Together we can save lives.

Especially if Amalia is with them, I'm quite sure that is the only way they can fly to any destination at the moment.

I am not quite sure why it is such a shocker to this twitter guy that the King and Queen are going on vacation during the Autumn holidays. Half of the country will be.

How wonderful; sounds like a family holiday in that case.

Yes, the King is a member of Government 24/24 hours and can make use of the Government fleet (a Boeing Business Jet and two Gulfstreams). Because he has to maintain his licenses, he will be the pilot. The King also flies -anonymous- planes from KLM to maintain his licenses.
The use of the Government fleet is restricted for other members of the Royal House.
