This got front page news on the BBC website today:
Dutch King Willem-Alexander reveals secret flights as co-pilot - BBC News
I'm pleased the King still manages to do something he clearly loves doing and would have been his career choice if he was not to be king!

"What a fantastic performance of Tom Dumoulin in the final time trial! The first Dutchman to do to win this big bike race and the third Dutchman to win one of the three major cycling tours. A truly amazing achievement! I am particularly proud of his victory in this 100th edition of the Giro d'Italia. "- WA

Hmm... okay, each their own considerations.

Prince Pieter-Christiaan was at the game. He is a member of the royal family. But I am a bit disappointed that Willem-Alexander and Maxima didn't come.

Pieter-Christiaan is no member of the Royal House, he is not in line of the throne, he has no any royal function. It was strange that the future King of Denmark was not escorted by someonw from the royal family. I thought this was a perfect occasion for Amalia, Alexia, Ariane, Eloïse and Leonore to attend the Ladies' Final as girls together.

Missed opportunity. They should have been able to find a spot for someone within the House to attend.

There were negative letters-to-the-editor in some newspapers regarding the absence of the King and Queen at the Final of the European Championships Football for Women, held in The Netherlands, not bene. Maybe the declining health of Máxima's father was a factor in this.

It had not noticed it before me, but Queen Máxima has a bracket since this summer. This bracket is not exactly stand Maxima's intention; She left for a reason to put a transparent handle in her mouth.

Queen Máxima has a brace, a transparant one, "on advice of the Queen's dentist, to correct the upper bite", according the Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst (State Information Agency): picture

Perhaps the photo is of an earlier week? Schools have started on August 20th in the area where they are living.
