Thank you to those who for sharing the photos of Maxima and Amalia in Argentina - wow, that's a busy day for them both! I can imagine that, given the fact Amalia is wearing black (or it could just be a coincidence), they are preparing for Maxima's father's funeral. Schools often let children miss a day for a funeral.

So I guess school it was ok

The Caras article above mentions their arrival on Sunday morning and return on Monday afternoon (with return in the Netherlands on Tuesday around mid-day), so that would mean that the princess of Orange missed two days of school.

that is a long trip to only be in the city for a day and a half indeed! maxima and amalia must both have been quite tired after that (although at least they didnt have to deal with economy flights like most of us!). despite the long trip, both maxima and amalia looked their usual stylish selves. i see amalia was carrying a sleeping bag though?
did they visit to check how the family was doing following mr. zorreguieta's death?

Oh okay. My Spanish isn't good enough to read the article quickly given the fact that I had limited time when I was typing that particular post; and thus also couldn't translate. I guess Maxima and Amalia went out there to visit their Argentinian family post-funeral.

King Willem-Alexander he is going to Curacao
"His Majesty the King leaves Sunday, accompanied by Minister of Plastics of Interior and Kingdom Relations, to Curacao. There they are informed about the assistance provided from Curaçao for the benefit of the upper winds. On-site visits are made, whenever and when it is possible to visit Saint Maarten, Saba and Saint Eustatius."

It is not "Minister of Plastics" , it is Minister Ronald Plasterk, who is the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations indeed. It is the second from left / the third from right on this picture.

They were made on April 18 on the occasion of the king's 50th birthday. I wonder whether they were a birthday present from the queen and her daughters for her husband and their father.

The new portraits are stunning - they look like something from a photography or fashion magazine. I particularly like how Alexia's freckles have been highlighted in her portrait.

What wonderful photos! The girls are growing into beautiful young women. I love how all three inherited their mother's brown eyes!

Really nice pictures. Is it just me or does Ariane have her Uncle Friso's smile?

To me she resembles her uncle Constantijn a bit, so it must be something from the "Orange" side of the family
