It's not a clash between room AND person. It's a dialogue. It is interesting that the room usually represents the past and the heritage in the form of gilding and scrolls and palladian features. In this case, the room is modern and the people are presented as heritage - fascinating interpretation of the state rooted in history.

I agree. A fascinating combination of gentlemen in jacquet in a room with DNA-codes on the walls:

One can see how totally different the same dresscode works in another salon:

Yes, partly of the King himself and parts of numerous Dutch people. The symbolism is fantastic, even if it is less so for the eyes.

An excellent speech. One that connected to everyone in the country. Especially the people that keep the country running at the moment, healthcaretakers, logistics-truckdrivers to keep the shops filled etc.

Great speech, with sadness for the dead and the berieved and caring,a very caring speech too,but then what to expect from a loving father of three beautifull girls. The speech had a hugely positive impact. Also, the King apparently regurarly calls in on hospitals with corona patients just to tell them they are on his mind and to encourage them, and to know what´s what and how and why at the time.I think that is great.
