Are they really DNA codes? It can give anyone a migraine!

Yes, partly of the King himself and parts of numerous Dutch people. The symbolism is fantastic, even if it is less so for the eyes.

King Willem-Alexander opened the Multatuli year by unveiling a memorial stone at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam today, February 17:

After the prime minister's address to the nation on Monday, the king will address the nation tonight at 7 pm.

An excellent speech. One that connected to everyone in the country. Especially the people that keep the country running at the moment, healthcaretakers, logistics-truckdrivers to keep the shops filled etc.

Great speech, with sadness for the dead and the berieved and caring,a very caring speech too,but then what to expect from a loving father of three beautifull girls. The speech had a hugely positive impact. Also, the King apparently regurarly calls in on hospitals with corona patients just to tell them they are on his mind and to encourage them, and to know what´s what and how and why at the time.I think that is great.

Interesting to get His Majesty The King at the telephone when one calls the local GGD (Municipal Health Services).

Why are they still having in-person meetings?!

As long as you keep 1.5 m apart, as they have, they can. The Netherlands is not in lockdown.

Yes, my colleagues and I mostly work from home, but sometimes we go to office for post, print, scan and coordination. As long as we desinfect our hands, keep 1,5 m distance, use open spaces instead of cubicles, avoid handshakes and always cough in our elbow it is possible to meet.

Same rule in shops: limited numbers inside, keep distance, only contactlesd electronic payments, etc.

It is heartwarming to see the royals so involved. The King seems to have a good rapport for that. Yesterday the minister whom coordinates all efforts (who was installed by the King, last week) confirmed the rumours that the King himself had been active in arranging extra medical equipment to be transported to the Netherlands.

The King seems to have called to the German family firm Dräger for IC patient monitoring systems, medical ventilators and lung monitoring systems.

The King also seems to have called to US Agencies which threathened to block the Dutch firm Philips to transport 2.000 (already ordered) respiratory systems from their plant in the USA to the Netherlands. The US threathened to block this on base of the Defence Production Act, but apparently the King's intervention has been succesful: the US will not confiscate the Dutch batch of respiratory systems. In turn Philips will use European facilities to produce for the US as well.
