The Prince will hand-out the Praemium Erasmianum to José Antonio Abreu at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

Mr.Abreu is the founder and director of a string of youth orchestra's in Venezuela.

HRH The Prince of Orange will hand-out the annual Praemium Erasmianum at the Royal Palace,Amsterdam on wednesday november 9th.

This year the prestigious award goes to the Catalan architect Joan Busquets.

HM Queen Beatrix and HRH Princess Máxima will be in attendance.

The Prince of Orange is Regent of the Praemium Erasmianum,so,in that it is normal he hands out the Award.The Praemium Erasmianum was founded by his grandfather,the late Prince Bernhard and is one of the most prestigious Awards around.

The Award is handed-out annually to a person who contributed significantly in the cultural,social and/or social-scientifically field within the frame of the European tradition and culture.

This years theme was "The shape of public space in the city".The award goes with a sum of 150.000 Euro.

Queen Beatrix, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Máxima attended the Erasmus award ceremony of the Praemium Erasmianum foundation at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam today, November 14.

This year's winner is the US-American philosopher Danile C. Dennett.

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Beatrix and Princess Margriet attended the Erasmus award ceremony in Amsterdam today, November 6. This year German sociologist and philosopher Jürgen Habermas received the award.

King Willem-Alexander handed out the Erasmus Award to Belgian festival creator Frie Leysen at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam today, November 12. Queen Máxima and Princess Beatrix were present as well.
