Tonight CP Willem-Alexander and CP Maxima were present at the premiere of Black Pinocchio in Amsterdam. Two pics of ANP.
Who's the guy with the huge necklace behind W-A and Max?

It is the mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, wearing his official chain (so it is not a weird fashionstatement ;))

Maxima looks gorgeous as always. She just lights up the room whereever she goes. I read on a royal message board that there are rumors in the media that Maxima is pregnant. Has anyone else read this?

Only in tabloid magazines, though it would not surprise me if she is or will be in the near future. The crownprince and princess said they wanted a large family (3 or 4?) once, and the biological clock is ticking... I also assume that they want to have their family 'completed' (sorry for the expression) before Willem-Alexander becomes King.

do you actually think her parents tell her how to "perform"? (...)

i think they teach their daughters to be formal and protocolar, to stand like ladies... but i really doubt any person would be telling their children that they have to smile and wave so that they are nice to the people, just because of looking good themselves, specially at such a young age.

I agree, with 2 years old children are very genuine and they don't have the "perform" notion in their heads. Amalia waved like this because she really Likes to see people greeting to her, and because she is very alived and full of life, just like Máxima.

What a gorgeous outfit -- do you suppose that jacket is velvet? It looks like it but this is April! Is it cold in the Netherlands?

Is her outfit forest green?

It is still cold for the time of the year, 8 degrees still... (so no sailing for me this easter weekend, as was planned :()

Monogolia is certainly a very intresting country to visit, and not such an evident choice. I'm looking forward to this!

agree completely...
i would be interesting to see what the programme of the visit will be & what will they do.

I think Maxima looks a little bit like Mette Marit in these pictures...

Hope this hasn't been asked recently, but have we heard anything more about TRH visiting Australia in recognition of the 400 years of ties between The Netherlands & Australia?

I was hoping that they would be coming in March or April; I am going to Europe at the end of May & didn't want to miss having more royals in Australia!
