Always an interesting mix of royals, business leaders attending. It must be a good opportunity to talk to those they might not normally have meetings with.
Agree with all your sentiments there polyesco. Looks a bit clingy. But the fact MM could undertake a trip so soon after surgery is a good sign.

Yes a good sign. She did take a long flight to the island of Maldiva for holidays, and then another flight to Davos. Good For Mette-Marit

The royals should stay away from these sort of fora in über-posh Davos. They are all (spouses of) the (future) lame ducks of their respective countries and have no any individal role than what their puppetmasters (the Government) allows them to do.
Such a Mette-Marit or a Rania. What is their meaning between the CEO's of HSBC, BNP Paribas, the European Central Bank or the International Monetary Fund? Being a wife of a future head of state, whose primary role is "to shut up and to be pretty"? What sort of "content" can these ladies, without any economic or fincancial relevance, education or background have between banking CEO's and ministers????
The same counts for all royals anyway, even for Queen Máxima who has a background in the haute finance. It is her role to show her 10.000 megawatt smile. Her country has more than competent officials who can act in Davos. What is she doing there? Just because she became married to a blonde Dutch dude who is King, she has the right to wander around in a mondaine Swiss resort and to "talk" about "economical matters" with world leaders?
Oh... come on...
