What a nice thing Haakon and Mette-Marit do! Do other royal couples do this sort of thing, too? I hope they do because it's a wonderful idea. Obviously the royals are not lacking in much and its nice to pass on the wealth so to speak.
Also, thanks liliawodna for all the pictures. Mette-Marit indeed looks wonderful in the Fotomartkz pictures. (And I agree: They should sort by date over there! :) )

Just a little clarification. The Humanitarian Fund in question was a wedding present for Haakon and Mette-Marit. They held a press conference on June 14, 2001 (before their wedding) requesting that wedding gifts be donated to this Humanitarian Fund. I believe donations are still coming in. Here is a picture from that press conference.
Haakon and Mette-Marit married on August 25th, today is the 24th

Yesterday they were both listed for this engagement on the royal web, today they say that only Haakon will go. I wonder is she is not felling well? It seems strange that she would miss this event since it concerns their humanitarian fund that was her idea. Trondheim is only an hour away with plane, and you can also go with train which takes 8 hours, and conciderning they have been flying europe round during the summer she is obiously not very scared of flying anylonger. She is not listed for any engagements until the conference on monday.

Haakon yesterday with Johan Olav Koss who head the organisation Right to play that is this years recipient of money from Haakon and Mette-Marits fund. (Adresseavisen)
I also add a picture of Haakon with Koss at the olympics in Lillehammer where Koss won the 1500, 5000, and 10000 metres skating and made world records on all thre distances, and also became very popular by donating his prize money to the organisation Olympic Aid. I would have to say Haakon has changed more (Aftenposten)
On Friday August 25th they have been married five years, also their foundation is five years
they answered some questions about it in Toronto:
MM: We wish to celebrate that day that is very special for us by highlighting the volunteer work that is being done in Norway. We are very proud of that work and wish to take part in the celebration of their work and efforts
It’s not a very romantic way to celebrate is it?
MM: It is a tradition that we hand out the grants from the foundation that day
H: It’s good for me so that I don’t forget which day it is one year. No problem for me this way.
On august the 25th the couple is arranging a conference focusing on peoples rights to a decent (worthy) life and how to apply this principal in the foreign aid work. Professor Thomas Pogge from the University of Columbia and Patric Van Weerelt from UNDP will come to take part in the conference together with representatives from representative from the board of the Crown Prince Couple`s Humanitarian foundation
On Saturday they will be present for a concert in Oslo where several Norwegian artists will play and the volunteer organisations will present their work. Also the winner of a national writing competition that was announced this spring will be announced.

Happy Anniversary to Princes Haakon and Mette-Marit! I wish them the Best and may God help this sooo wonderful couple for many, many years.
I like Mette-Marit a lot. She is a very strong woman, and a very genuine person.
I never find her fake or superficial.
She found in Haakon the perfect man for her and with him she has now a life full of peace and estability.
I like all the present crown royal couples, without exception, but this couple is very special for me. I'm quite sure this marriage will last forever and after 5 years they are even more in love.
God bless their beautiful children, and God bless Norway.

12.00-16.00 The Crown Prince and Crown Princess takes part in events to mark that The Crown Prince Couples Humanitarian Foundation is 5 years old. Handing over grants from the foundation, and anouncement of the winner of the writing competition supported by the foundation. Visit to the 20 humanitarian orgainsations that will have stands and present their work in "Spikersuppa" Oslo
info on the winner of the writing competion and who got money from the humanitarian foundation in Norwegian here and here
The couple was surrounded by people when they visited the stands, people who wanted to gratulated them and shake their hands, and sometimes it was according to this article difficult to see them in the crowd. A rumoured meeting with the press was cancelled or it was a misunderstanding from the press, according to Astrid Versto they used the time visitng the stands, she said it did not have anything to do with Sven O Høibys cancer diagnosis (and his never failing timing)
The goverment also gave their foundation 1 krone for ever person in Norway, which is also what they got when they got married, handed over from the minister of humanitarian aid Erik Solheim

Nicely caught. It is also the only ring she is wearing - though it looks fairly heavy, so that might be a reason for it. Maybe it is an anniversary present from Haakon?
Well I think something bigger than a ring would be appropriate after 5 years, he already gave her that beautiful diamond ring after the birth of Svere Magnus, she only has so many fingers Maybe she will wear something new for the bulgarian dinner, but knowing her she will wear her wedding tiara and the same diamond earrings she always does Haakon seems to not buy large jewelley like his father. Harald has bought Sonja many big jewellery present trough time, and it is also He and Sonja who has given her the amethysts, who are the biggest jewellery she has so far.

For the trip to Sogn og Fjordane there will be more than 50 people from the press following them, it includes press from England, Sweden and (ofcourse) Germany. The officials are delighted http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/distrikt/n...rdane/1.898299
They are both going to Kristiansand, sepperatly though:
Mette-Marit to open conference on Incest and sexual abuse on september the 13th, Haakon to open the international week at the University college in Kristiansand on the 19th of september http://www.fylkesmannen.no/fmt_hoved...&g101=x&g100=x&
She looks fantastic for someone who has such young children at home. I like that she didn't lose every last pound, too, from the pregnancies. Her face looks better a little fuller.
Rominet09 mentioned something about the new ring on Mette-Marit's finger. Quite gigantic in fact, but that's not my point. I was just wondering if it is a usual practise for her or for all the royalty to not wear their wedding rings? Are they so inconveniantly big and expensive?
