Maybe Astrid, who is a member of the host family, as well as the Norwegian PM (she is the one who wore a pink dress today?) didn't "catch the spirit" too.

There is no obligation to wear national dress at all. In fact, this is only the 1st royal confirmation in Norway when most of the female guests did so!

Our daily Daily Mail dose:

I guess Google translate confused our reporter though.
The bunad is indeed adorned with blades, (blader actually) but that is leaves in Norwegian.

Now that good reporting. Insert numerous errors in the articles you write. It keeps the readers on their toes...
Apart from that it's good to see all the traditional outfits. I also noticed a female Same-outfit, which differ considerable from the Norwegian outfits. The Same-people being the first people of northern Scandinavia.
It's a pity the wearing of traditional outfits haven't catched on in DK as well.

I just watched the speeches and am left in tears, they were so full of emotion and funny little annotations. Who would have guessed that both Haakon and Ingrid share a dark black humor
And I absolutely love that she thanked, in her speech, her dogs <3 (amongst all the other family members).
From what was to be heard she seems to be a wonderful young woman.

No, he didn't. I read he said there were other things to do for him. That he would have liked to attend together with "the fams" but had to finish his newest recordings for a book.

The confirmation gift from the King of Spain is stunning but I'm still trying to figure out if its a bracelet or necklace.

I do hope that creature will never be seen in an official context with the Royal Family. Poor King and Queen! Princess Ragnhild would be appalled.

Me too. But I'm learning towards believing it's a bracelet. I'm wondering if its a new one or a heirloom.

Since we are at it, Erling Lorentzen was at the confirmation right?

A photo of Mary and Christian.
While eating lunch I saw a woman reciting a kind of poem, I think. It wasn't bad actually, but sure pretty somber at times!

What a beautiful event! I'm super pleased that all her grandparents were able to attend the event.
IA looked beautiful and dignified.
To be honest the buenas was a disappointment stylewise but I love that she worked on it with her grandmother.
Speaking of bunads my favorite was Princess Martha Louise.
It was a lovely event all over!

Bit late and I'm not sure where I saw it mentioned, so apology, no source - it is a bracelet

More Medals for the Crown Prince of Denmark than for the Kings of Norway and Spain.
