Well no, this wasn't a State Visit but a "special" Visit for UNIAIDS.
State Visits include the head of State (King or Queen; or a President), a Galadinner or official reception.
Anyway I agree that it's quite a pitty she had to cancel this visit.
She must be very disappointed.
She always looks like her work for UNIAIDS is one of the most important agendas for her.

indeed, she seems quite interested in UNAIDS and has been to nicaragua and switzerland already in her appointment. will the visit get rescheduled or is definitely cancelled?

Too bad for MM! I was looking forward to seeing her during this visit. If I may comment on the arrival pics, I can't believe how natural she looks. It almost appears as though she has no make-up on. I'm sure that is likely not the case. I know I say it a lot but that is what impresses me most about her. She is simply MM! I think it reveals a lot about her true character. I wonder if she's resting in Kiev or if she has already gone home. I think traveling on a plane with a concussion even a mild one would be very uncomfortable.

Ooops, sorry! Bad choice of words to describe the trip by me. Of course it is not a state visit!
Still, very tragic for her, since hiv/aids is very important for them to work with.
She will recover soon hopefully, but this trip didn't turn out the way it was supposed to unfortunately.

An article in English from aftenbladet.no on this link:- Mette-Marit confined to bed in the Ukraine - Stavanger Aftenblad . I'm glad that it is a slight concussion and not too serious, though she has to stay in bed for 2 days...I feel sorry for her, she's always unfortunate when it comes to travelling, she fell sick before her journey to Chile, she almost slipped or fell down when she visited Telemark and now she had an actual fall in the Ukraine.

I can just imagine how uncomfortable it will be for her to travel on a plane with a concussion. Hopefully, she will be okay.

It could have been as simple as her just tripping over some impediment on the pavement, or road, or ... ?
I mean, we all trip up, every once in awhile, don't we?
MM looked slim to me.
Nothing more.

I feel sorry for her - I sometimes feel like a walking "accident-waiting-to-happen" myself --- rushing around, having a million things occupying my mind, trying to be on time --- all ingredients for a disaster! I am very "accident-prone."

Yes, quite right.
I am a bit confused by the part where she hit her head?
How do you think she might have done that? That is, how do you fall in such a way so as to hit your head? I am guessing she fell backward and hit her head on the pavement or something.

According to an article in the English version of Aftenposten MM is recovering and because she knows there was a delegation of HIV/AIDS workers who had travelled from all over the Ukraine to meet her, she invited them to meet her in her hotel suite while she recovers from a fall.
I'm impressed by what a gracious gesture that is. Despite suffering a fall and the subsequent concussion (which I'm sure has her sore and with a very bad headache) she is taking the time to meet the workers. Such a nice move to not let them down despite the mishap! I think it shows a lot of spirit and professionalism on her part. Very impressive!!

Wow !
I am equally amazed.
Now, when do you ever read about anyone recovering from anything, who invites folks to their sick room, recovery place to meet them?
I say, hardly ever.
I think her gesture will never be forgotten. Nor, should it.
Kudos to the Norwegian Crown Princess

It's for reasons like this that she is my favorite CP. She does her job so well and doesn't always make the headlines. She may not always be the most fashionable, but to me it's obvious she is very passionate about what she does and tries to do the best job possible (hence inviting AIDS workers to her room while recovering from a concussion), seems to be a wonderful mom and very much in love with her husband. Not that I am slighting any of the other CPs because I'm not, but I'm just blown away by what a wonderful gesture it is.

You don't need to fall any particular way in order to hit your head. I think it all depends on if you can "catch" youself or not and the motion of your body at the time.
From what I've read, she fell on the stairs and (I'm guessing here)she probably either hit her head on another step or on the floor.
In either case, I'm glad that she invited to the people to come to her, rather than just blowing off the engagment all together. Shows a lot on her part.
I can just imagine how sore her body is and how bad her head aches if she did hit it on a step or something. Poor thing.

And there are people out there, complaining about how this Crownprincess is doing her job! This shows what a great person she must be.
I hope she will recover soon. And again, how many other people (royals) would invite people to the suite in the hotel if something happened to them? Very few is my guess.
