Mette-Marit's visit to Germany, 17.-18. October, 2006

Mette-Marit looked really great during the whole visit, imo! It was a pleasure to follow her activities.
I really loved the pictures, where the Princess was with children: a mother of three, she surely knows how to handle and charm them!

One of the things I like about Mette-Marit is that she's not so obviously obsessed with being 'camera-ready' as some of the other princesses and queens. She comes across as a little uncertain sometimes, which is endearing (almost Diana-like, though I'm not really comparing her to Diana), and projects a down-to-earth, natural loveliness though she isn't a conventional beauty.

TV2 news had a ahort story from the visit, When she was supposed to visit 4 years ago an 11 year old Mette-Marit fan had been selected to give her flowers, and she started crying on TV when she was told she was not comming because she was fried by the german TV team. This time Mette-Marit (or her staff ) remembered her and invited the now 15 year old girl to a private talk in the house where she was staying.

Its about 5 year old Marleen (in the pic) who said she liked all Princesses but esp Mette-Marit since she has such pretty hair, but she had no crown which was disapointing and she did not speak German, but a man helped her (norways ambassador)

Infront of the city hall in Hamburg it was 100s of spectators, german and norwegian photographers fought for the best spots and the police discussed with the bodyguards if it was safe for her to walk over to the crowd. Mette-Marit wanted to talk to the people who had come to see her, it was not only Marleen who got a close encounter. She took her time to shake hands, make small talk, smile and wave to her fans.

YEsterday she played her royal role to the nines. She was generous with her time, the outfit was very Princessy, babypink suit and matching shoes with hiiiigh heels

YEsterday she started the day by opening the consulate in Germanys second biggest city

- Unfortunatly I speak no german she said and continued in english, and charmed the gemrnas even more

When CP Haakon was in Germany 4 years ago he made his speeches in german and talked to the press. Mette-Marit did not answer questions during her two day visit, If she was afriad of Questions about pregnancys, divorces and other specualtions in german press is not known

It is not planned a press meeting was all the information secretary had to say about that

But she did give a speech... then exrepts from the speech...

During the Crown Princess visit it was written that the german press was stalking her and made her stay difficult, but even if the media interest was big, there has not been hysterical, but the yellow press will continue to write lies about her, Yesterday the german press tried their best to get pictures of her frm angles that made her loo pregnant
