mette marit looked astonishingly good in the gala of the christening of prince odysseas... i really liked that dress. does wnyone know if it's also a valentino? she seems to be wearing valentino a lot in her last gala appearences.
i was also wondering... some people said they admired her because of her simplicity and "downtoeathness". at the very beggining this was really true but now i just see her as another shopaholic as marie chantal (i read somewhere that that's how they became friends, because of going shopping together in london) always dressing in valentinos and pradas.... i really dont find any simplicity in this... could anyone explain me or tell me if i understood wrong?

I wasn't a fan of MM's day-time outfit. The top seemed at odds with the skirt.
Her evening wear looked amazing, she looked really elegant, stylish and chic.

The Crown Princess's dress is from the Spring 2005 collection from Prada.

Why do you keep posting the exact same post in several treads, it makes it difficult to know where to reply The dress is by Prada, the dresses for the gala at the palace for the King of Sweden and the Emperor was Norwegian design, I would say she and Mary is approx 50\50 in their norwegian\danish and forreign designs when it comes to gala. Both could do better yet Maxima seems 100\0 in her choice of forreign and national design with alot of Valentino and it is never an issue for some reason.
The last time Mette-Marit was identified wearing Valentino was the Pink dress for the statevisit from Italy autum 2004.

i just posted it in two threads. in the one of the christening (as there is where it happened) and here as it's mette marit's forum.
what maxima is admired by is not because of her simplicity. many people may agree she is everything but simple (she normally used vibrant colours and lots of complements), but i wasn't judging mette marit about the designers she wears, i was only saying if to you and the other people she changed that simple thing they mentioned... i think all the crown princesses should promote their countries fashion and that's something maxima should improve, however, most of her day outfits are by natan, as mathilde's.
you also mentioned maxima in other thread talking about hair :) is it because i like her that you mention her? i never said anything about mathilde either and she uses valentino's gowns as well... just wanted to say it's definetely not a problem of not liking mm or liking maxima very much...

Most of Mette-Marits daywear is not identified so who knows who they are by?
I dont think Mathilde ever uses Valentino it does not seem like her style, she does however wear Armani every now and then. I have never admired Mette-Marit, I dont admire any royals quite frankly, and I have never said that she prefers the simple styles, as she used clothes from forreign designers from the beginning. I just think one should meassure Princesses by the same standards, If one thinks messy hair is a problem for one Princess it should also be a problem with others, if one thinks wearing Italian design is a problem for Princess X it should also be so for Princess Y. And since Letizia and Mathilde almost never have messy hair with roots showing and rarely or never wear italian design they just dont make for very good comparisons IMO

that's true as well larzen.
and you are true as well about armani for mathilde. i got messed up.
however, i'm not comparing mette marit and maxima. i was just asking a simple question about that simple style someone said she had and sometimes i can barely see it.

OK we might have a english problem here, even if Mette-Marits clothes is expensive (no doubt about it), I still say she has a simple style, and by that I mean minimal assesorising, clean lines, not much fuss, no large jewellerys etc. And to use Maxima again, and not in a bad way, she also has a expensive wardorbe but her style is not simple IMO, big jewellery, flashy colours, scarfs, big necklaces, alot of jewellerys etc.etc. I hope you see what I mean

It is very confusing; perhaps for the future if there is an issue or a question it could be posted in only one thread, whether it be the thread it is occuring in (such as Odysseas' baptism thread as is the case here), or with a picture or discussion link to another thread (for example, to post a link to Mette-Marit in the Prada gown with a link to the post or the thread).
I myself have replied to this question in Odysseas' baptism thread. See the bottom of my post.
