I've been to Danish christenings and confirmations and I agree, they're no jolly affairs. Maybe that's why the parties afterwards are always magnificent.

Probably both? Maud and Ingrid-Alexandra are sometimes seen together at family events, so it would make sense that Sverre Magnus and Leah also spend quite some time together with Emma being the younger one without a royal cousin close in age.

Thanks JR76. Scandinavia seems to be more relaxed about face mask usage than the rest of Europe.

It's the region of origin of Sonja's mother, she usually wears that region's bunad, as does Märtha Louise, and Sonja and Harald gifted Ingrid Alexandra and Leah with Telemark bunads for their confirmations as well.
Märtha Louise usually wears the corresponding headpiece, it was an exception that she did not yesterday. At Ingrid Alexandra's confirmation, Marius' girlfriend also wore a Telemark bunad, thus the headpiece. Yesterday, she wore a bunad that I think is from Vestfold (which is apparently her region of origin). Mette-Marit wore a Kristiansand bunad yesterday (as she usually does) because that's where she is from and the headpiece doesn't go with that bunad.

I don't know if the "rules" for wearing a bunad in Norway differs from those wearing a "folkdräkt" (fold dress) in Sweden, but in Sweden a married woman is supposed to have her hair covered as a sign of her being married, but not all who wears them today are following the rules, for example princess Madeleine have been seen with her hair down even after she has married and had children.
Maybe in Norway there are other items with the bunad that shows the difference if a woman is being married or not, and that it's accepted that a married woman didn't have to cover her hair.
The "krans" (wreath) or bands on the younger, unmarried women is worn as a festive item, not to show whether they are married or not, even in Sweden unmarried girls/women could wear a wreath or bands on their heads at festive occations.
The reason why a married woman in Sweden (and Finland) should be having her hair covered when wearing a folk dress is because that were the rules for women living on the country side, as well as in many smaller towns, a virtuous married woman covered her hair always, at the time from which the folk dresses originate. In fact that was the custom among some women in Sweden and Finland outside the major cities a bit into the 20th century.

The thing about married women covering their hair goes back the Viking Age.
While young and unmarried girls wore their hair uncovered.
Also, young women in particular tended to wear sleeves down to just below the elbows.
Bare forearms were considered sexy.

He seems rather lost switching jobs and sectors - hopefully he finds out what he really is interested in doing for a longer period of time (I don't think working as a motorcycle mechanic can fund his lifestyle but probably his parents take care of that at least for the moment?); and doesn't seem that interested in any tertiary education.

Why would she get a car for her 18th birthday. Do we know if she even is working on her drivers licence?

Because that has been tradition beforehand.
But the NRF has now decided, after some public pressure, to decline such gifts as they are seen as inappropriate in regards to associating the NRF with commercial businesses - as well as being environmentally unsound. - But you won't get far within a reasonable time in Norway on bicycle! So it's IMO a case of the Law of Jante or Tall Poppy Syndrome.

The Royal teens Heiresses and Heir are busily preparing for life.
Elizabeth of Brabant studied in Wales , Leonor is definitely going abroad, CA is most likely not and Prince Christian most likely will... But what about IA? What’s the most likely plan for further training?

She went to an international school; I assume that was a conscious decision to expose her to a wider variety of people and prepare her for her role with an international profile.
And Christian did go to an international school in Verbier for a few months (which most likely was not only about the international experience but also about maximizing skiing opportunities).
Amalia might go abroad taking either a gap year or do part of her university studies abroad but I personally see little reason for teenagers (in high school) to move abroad if they are doing perfectly fine in their home country.

I don't think all heirs need to study abroad just because others are doing it. It has to be right for them and their situation.
IA might decide to study abroad for uni like her father where she can be more anonymous but she also might wish to stay closer to home because of her mother's health or because that's her personal preference. I don't think one has to study elsewhere in order to learn to be a successful constitutional monarch.
William simply took a gap year for example.

I really don't think Ingrid Alexandra will attend boarding school abroad, since she changed schools (from Oslo International School to a public Norwegian secondary school) with the specific intention of getting a Norwegian secondary education.
I think it is likely that she will study abroad in the course of her university education, as her father and grandfather did.

The Norwegian Royal Family is rather small and the King very old, the future Queen suffering from a chronic disease... The future Crown Princess should go immediately abroad - now or never! Because she might be needed in an official role at home really soon.

The royal family has always been quite small.
When Haakon went to school in the US, it was his father and mother on the throne. His grandfather had died in 1991. His sister was not a working royal. Beyond his parents the only working royal would have been Astrid. For now her father has his wife and mother for support, if Harald dies in the next few years.
Ingrid is already 17. College is not a long time off for her anyways. So we're not talking a long wait if she decides to study abroad for at least part of it.
