I think she has got a bump since the birth of her kids and I think the cut of this blouse is very unvavourable.
But I would never call her fat!

Her figure makes her look pregnant too IMO; she leans a bit with her belly forward..
And her belly in the light blue blouse, is'nt so visible, I can't either call it 'fat' of 'pregnant'. It is just the blouse hanging and Mette's leaning with her belly forward.

Actually I think the dress is quite nice!
The cut and the sleeves are really pretty!
It's just a pity there is no light contrast .

why is it when the cp couple meet with people at Skaugum the pictures which we get are all taken side-ways.Dissapointing since we cant see their faces. MM looks nice, cute dress but too much black going on.
Does anyone know if the Crown prince gives a speech during the dinner or does he just meet with them? It would be nice to know their comments on what they do

The big yearly money collection on TV is on Sunday, this year it is called Heartspace and focuses on the lesser priveliged in the Norwegian society. Today Haakon and Mette-Marit had invited 50 people to Skaugum. Among the invited were lonely older people, people with drug problems, mental health problems and users of the childrens protective services (Cant find a good english word for "barnevernet").

Is this the first time the CP Couple have hosted this kind of dinner ?? What a great idea (older people are so often forgotten) and CP Mette-Marit looks lovely. Hats off to them, what a wonderful treat for those 50-people

Yes, they first did it in 2004, and have repeated the experience every year. They also host dinners for other members of the society, not just the elderly or the lonely, but athletes, business people, and so on. But the elderly, lonely, and those on the outskirts of society seem to be more frequent than the others, as Mette-Marit is the patron of Mental Health.

They're having a "theme" dinner at Skaugum tonight, according to the royal calendar. This time it is "Det frivillige Norge" who are invited. Det Frivillige Norge is an umbrella organization for about 70 of the Norwegian organizations involving volunteer work.
The subject of the dinner is cultural freedom, and the header is "How do you create a good fellowship in a diverse society."

They talked about this event in the Breakfast TV show this morning. The press people critisised this event of being a publicity stunt, since they only got to film/take photos of the people entering the event. One of the people on the show, said that if the point of this event was to raise awareness on a topic, this was not the way to go. Also they claimed that the CP couple had used a PR firm to promote the event, which the people on the show found strange, since this was a charity event.
I do understand that the CP couple don't want the press there for the whole duration of the event, that the dinner is supposed to be more low key, but I do also understand the press for wanting more than photos from the entering, that they want a bit more info on the background. I do believe that not all the press is tabloid in the way that they only want photos and shock stories, but also want to report on the things the CP couple do of charitable events. Especially, since most of the things the CP couple do is rather important (like mental health, HIV/AIDS, international poverty etc.) and deserve public attention. Or perhaps I'm a bit naïve towards the press?!?
