Crown Prince Haakon's Current Events Part 3: February 2019 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
"I want to thank all of you who every day stand up for a better society. A society that is safe and inclusive for all."
This was the message in His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's digital greeting at the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the racially motivated murder of Benjamin Hermansen at Holmlia in Oslo. The Crown Prince should have participated in the celebration, but due to the strict infection control rules, the participation had to be digital."

"Without the sea, the earth does not work.

2021 marks the start of the UN Year of Marine Research. Across the country, the fishermen of the future and other seafarers will learn about marine litter through the teaching program "Blue responsibility".

Crown Prince Haakon participates. Here is his greeting to the students at the blue lines in high schools."

"Today, on Sami People's Day, Crown Prince Haakon greets everyone with Sami roots and everyone else who is involved in celebrating the right and freedom to be themselves, to have their own identity, their own language and culture."

This is not to be mean, it is only MO, but I don't think CP Haakon has the same dedication to duty as his father. I hope I am wrong.

The Crown Prince Haakon meets today digital representatives of District Fathers Norway

"- I am honored to work in a project that promotes the importance of father's participation in children and young people's lives, says Thomas Haile in the newly started organization Bydelsfedre Norge.
In 2016, the organization Bydelsmødre was established in Oslo - and has since worked to build a bridge between vulnerable minority women and the public sector.

Now District Fathers is following suit. In August last year, the project started. District fathers are established in the Østensjø district in Oslo - and soon in Alna and Stovner."

Of course you are wrong. I am old enough to remember Harald´s last years as Crown Prince before his succession. He was neither more determined nor more dutiful nor did he do more frequent royal engagements than his son - in fact he was known as a pretty "reluctant" character and many doubted he could ever fit in his father´s footsteps.
The current Crown Prince focuses on certain subjects very important to his heart, like the global operating "Dignity" project, equality, climate change and the environment - causes that didn´t exist on that scale back in the 1970s and 80s when most royal families acted, except from official visits abroad, on a more national scale. Haakon seems to be very active on all these matters, having built up a global network. Of course he has been slowed down a bit, like everyone else, by the pandemic. In that regard, he does not only fulfill his "duties" as a norwegian Crown Prince, but also as a person of the public towards our planet and the people dwelling on it!

Both King Harald and CP Haakon love their country and always did everything in their capacity to do all they can for it.

So, Haakon was regent for about 2 1/2 months (late January to Mid-April). Was that his longest stint as regent to date?

Not quite. In 2004 the Crownprince Regent even hosted two incoming state visits (Portugal and Japan). I´m not sure when exactly the King´s sick leave started, but he was definitely ill - if not even still hospitalised - in the beginning of February and returned to office for the National Day in mid May. So it must have been at least about 3,5 months.

In 2004 the King returned back to office for the christening of Princess Ingrid Alexandra in April. And he then attended the Wedding of Prince Friso on 24.04.2004 But i think he was in hospital at the time of the birth of Princess Ingrid Alexandra in January so it would be 3 months he was on sick leave.

You are right. I mixed things up with another sick leave when I think he came back for the National Day.
