Yes, I suppose you are right. I just can't get used to it...in high school a boy I had a wild crush on once wore purple pants to school and it sort of emotionally scarred me. It cured me of my crush on him for sure!
But I like Philippe quite a lot, always have. I think he is a very attractive guy, loud pants color or not....

I think we are both in Mathilde's black list due to our proclivity towards the King of the Belgians

Ach... it is Austria, it is Salzburg, it is summer holiday... I thought it was a nice tribute to the country.
I like the classic upbringing of the children. I believe Princess Elisabeth studies violin, the children get a cultural bagage which will help them in their development and formation. The royal family looks lovely.

What a delightful event for the family to go to for that really is a good learning experience for the children. I like the jackets on the boys, sure more traditional then what boys their age would wear yet this is an event that they are honoring the country and showing their support for the festival. The king and queen seems like such a delightful couple to be around.
Thinking this is something I would so enjoy and should make note of it so that in the future a trip there would be wonderful.

I used to go to South Tyrol (northern Italy) on summer holidays with my parents when I was a kid and my mum bought me a Tyrolean costume which was very similar to the one P.Eleonore is wearing: it's a very common thing to wear those outfits on special occasions in Alpine regions (even to go to the theatre/opera house) and it's a nice nod to Austria and to Salzburg.

And very handsome indeed. Mathilde is a very lucky lady to have him on her arm, he is like a *Silver Fox* in my book, just WOW!

In some of the photos, he looks sunburnt! Q Mathilde looks very tanned too.
Wonderful pics - nice to see the younger children wearing traditional costumes.
On a side note: I remember being in Europe back in 2008 and was shocked at the cost of SPF 15+ sunscreen. My friend and I paid a small fortune for a small bottle from a pharmacy in Nice. I'm from Australia, and the price we paid would have bought me a litre bottle of SPF 30+ sunscreen!

Welcome to the Philippe Fan Club
I love how they chose to wear traditional Austrian clothing for the event, that's actually something people do when visiting that country.
