Prince Charles, hubris and the £20m property deal that threatens his charities | Mail Online

A colossal error — one fuelled by vanity and hubris — has meant that many of the beneficiaries of Charles’s charities may go short this year, because of a disastrous deal involving the purchase of a single property, Dumfries House in Ayrshire, in 2007.

It has been described by Charles’s people as the ‘biggest financial gamble of his life’. And it looks to have failed.

A less sensational article here:

Negative equity hit for Prince Charles

The Prince of Wales has joined thousands of other landowners facing falling property values as a result of the credit crunch, it has emerged.

This is just more anti-Charles vitriole from the DM.
At the time the purchase was decreed to be a great saving of the national heritage.

In time the property market will pick up again and Charles knows that. He is an astute business man and the money will be repaid and profits made. In the meantime people in the local area are reportedly having jobs etc at the house so they are also benefitting - according to the comments on the DM article about this a couple of days ago.

The DM is so determined to destroy the royal family I wonder what they will write about when they succeed.

Is it possible William has less hair than his father? ;)
Wonderful to see them both.

Sweet I like that William and his father did this together. I remember a few years back when he went with his father on a couple official engagements, how much I had enjoyed seeing them together.
