Camilla attended another reception as patron today, she met
with supporters of the children's charity Barnardo's at Clarence
House, London.

Today, the Duchess of Cornwall as patron of Emmaus UK attended a reception
in connection with the final session of the Emmaus Anglo-French roundtable
event on homelessness and social enterprise, at the French ambassador's
residence in London.

The gentleman next to her is French Ambassador to Britain Maurice Gourdault-Montagne.

TheSpec - Duchess to become patron of Castle

Dundurn Castle is about to get some royal prestige.

The Spectator has learned that Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and wife of the Prince of Wales, has agreed to be its royal patron.

The city has received a letter from Clarence House, the official residence of the couple, accepting a request to be the patron of her ancestral home. The duchess is the great-great granddaughter of the castle’s builder, Sir Allan MacNab.

As patron of the National Osteoporosis Society she has visited the Osteoporosis
Department of the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury, Kent.

And as patron of the War Memorials Trust she visited the Battle of Britain National
Memorial to the Few and unveiled the Sir Keith Park sculpture, Capel-le-Ferne,
Folkestone, Kent.
On pic 3 she looks at names inscribed on the Memorial Wall which lists nearly
3000 aircrew who took part in the Battle of Britain.

"The oldest surviving serviceman who fought in the Battle of Britain spoke of his delight at meeting the Duchess of Cornwall as she unveiled a new statue near Folkestone.
Flight Lieutenant William Walker, 97...said: "The main thing is that I am fortunate to have survived long enough to see the wall erected and at long-last a bust of Sir Keith unveiled.
"It was a great pleasure to see it. It's good of her to come down and unveil it, we appreciate it very much."
Flt Lt Walker said it was around the fifth time he had met the Duchess. He said: "She said it was nice to see me again."

As patron of the Public Catalogue Foundation, the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday
visited Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate, where she viewed paintings of Harrogate-born
William Powell Frith (1819-1909) and saw the Mercer’s current photography exhibition by
Tim Smith, TEA: From The Land Of A Thousand Hills, which shows images of Rwanda.

November 23, 2010.

As President of the National Osteoporosis Society, she visited Ipswich Hospital,
in Ipswich, Suffolk and as Patron of the Desert Rats 7th Armoured Division
Thetford Memorial Association Camilla attened the annual reunion event, also
in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Thank you for these photos and clips, iceflower. It's lovely to be able to see videos of Camilla in action. It lets us get to know her in a way you can't do from photos.

I think she's doing a great job. She's taken well to these solo engagements She seems to be very friendly and to make an effort to make people feel at ease, and she always has a sparkle in her eye.

When I think back to how difficult things were for her when Charles set about making their relationship public and slowly introducing her to the world, I'm amazed to see how far she's come and am very pleased for her. She now looks like she was born to the job.

Osteoporosis Society attended the "A Celebration of Christmas Concert" in aid of the National
Osteoporosis Society at Bath Abbey, Somerset.

Today, December 9, the annual Christmas tree decoration event has taken place:

Camilla as Patron of Helen & Douglas House received children who decorated the Christmas Tree
in the library at Clarence House. The children supported by Helen & Douglas House and 'The
London Taxidriver's Fund' for underprivileged Children, helped with the decorations before joining
the Duchess for lunch.

After being poked with a stick during the tuition-fees riots, you might think the Duchess of Cornwall would be put off having anything to do with students.

But clearly Camilla, 63, is the forgiving type. She has agreed to become patron of DecAid, a charity set up by undergraduates at Exeter and Plymouth universities to raise money for servicemen and their families. The charity hopes to raise £350,000 by October — the tenth anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
