I always look forward to photos of this event, it's such a highlight of the royal family's holiday engagements.

I love the third photo: look at that little girl's face as she sees the soldier! So sweet.

So much pleasure and excitement given by this, each and every year...

This, also, is an event of Camilla's that I look forward to every year and this year didn't disappoint. That little girl, I think, has found a fast friend in Camilla and was quite impressed being greeted by the impressive guard in his big hat and bright red coat. She probably thought he was someone from a magical land or a nutcracker as to her, he was quite larger than life. :D

:previous: Yes, I wondered if she thought he was the Nutcracker Prince, too! What a magical experience for the children and their families.

I love seeing the photos of this annual event. Nobody else is really as good with kids as Camilla and where else in the royal household would you get bangers and mash with a smiley face served by the hostess?

This is an undeniably mushy event and I think the Guardsmen love it too. The way the kids look at the enormous toy soldier is so full of wonder it makes you wish you still had that same innocence. And those lovely, friendly, not too big reindeer were the icing on the cake.

I think this is a wonderful event. Camilla clearly has as much fun as the children.

Court Circular 12th December:
The Duchess of Cornwall, President, the Brooke Hospital for Animals, this afternoon attended a Carol Concert at the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Community First, afterwards attended a Youth Action Wiltshire Seventieth Anniversary Concert in Malmesbury Abbey.

Malmsbury Abbey is amazing. That is a great choice of venue for a concert.
Camilla seems to enjoy young people and they her.
