Prince Charles is bringing his wife Camilla to Ontario for her first time, where she can visit her ancestral castle. The Duchess of Cornwall is the great-great-great-granddaughter of Sir Allan MacNab, who was the prime minister of the Province of Canada before Confederation.

Separatists to protest visit by Prince Charles
Royal visit to Quebec by Prince Charles in November will be met with resistance, says a separatist group.
In a letter published Monday in the newspaper Le Quebecois, Patrick Bourgeois, president of Reseau de resistance du Quebecois, wrote that Prince Charles' trip with his wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, "puts a finger in the eye" of the province's people and history.

Canada's taxpayers to pay for plane for Charles and Camilla's royal visit
Canada's taxpayers will pay for an Airbus plane to usher Prince Charles and Camilla across the country during their 11-day royal visit next month, the U.K. Press Association reports.
Security costs during the trip, however, will be paid for by the British government, as Charles and Camilla will be escorted around by a phalanx of royal protection officers.

PRINCE Charles will save the taxpayer a fortune on his Autumn Tour next month — by hitching a lift on a Canadian military aircraft.
Instead of chartering a private jet at a cost of more than 350,000, Charles and Camilla will hop across the Atlantic and back in a jumbo belonging to the Canadian Air Force

The Prince and Duchess are warned not to visit Quebec. I'm surprised they are still planning on going, but really - good for them. They shouldn't be afraid or not want the bad publicity.

The Canadians have one, and it seems apt given the subject.

That'll work! Thanks!
Though this news about Monsieur Pierre has me concerned. Can't they PEACEFULLY protest? When they promise "fireworks" well that just blows their credibility as being legit IMO.

TheSpec.com - Local - Royal visit likely to include Camilla's Dundurn Castle
The Prince of Wales appears to have let the cat out of the bag about his second stop in Hamilton when he and his wife visit next month.
The prince and his wife are slated to visit Hamilton on Nov. 5 for a lunchtime stop at HMCS Haida.
His message indicates the royal couple will also be stopping at Dundurn Castle, which was built by Sir Allan MacNab in 1835. The Duchess of Cornwall is the great-great-great-grand-daughter of MacNab.

Just days of ahead of a visit to Canada by Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Canadians appear less than excited about the first-in-line to the crown.
According to a recent poll prepared by Navigator — a Toronto-based polling, consulting and communications firm — and obtained by CBC News, Charles has an image problem.

Its nearly been a decade since Charles has visited Canada, so it will be interesting to see if a visit by C&C will help improve the perception of the royal family. I would expect that going forward, one would start to see C&C engage a lot more with the Canadians.

I don't trust polls much. There are two flaws with this poll
1) They didn't include the results for 18 to 24 year olds (previous polls have shown that surprisingly 18 to 30 years olds have the highest support for monarchy)
2) Polls relating to the monarchy in Canada are naturally skewed because of Quebec where the vast majority of the population is anti-monarchy.
That being said, the actual concern is that the majority of Canadians don't know how the government works in this country. There is total apathy with all our national institutions.

Royal couple visiting Niagara College's wine centre - St. Catharines Standard - Ontario, CA
Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are visiting the college’s Niagara-on-the-Lake campus next Thursday to commemorate the opening of its new Wine Visitor and Education Centre.
Although the federal government hasn’t announced the stop, invitations were sent out from the college for the grand opening event with the Prince of Wales.
