Wonderful photos everyone thanks for sharing your experience. I have a question to those who have waited outside, how early should I get down there in order to get a good view of Camilla, I want to atleast be able to see her even if I can't shake her hand. And I'm pretty short to begin with so if people are in front of people it will make it worse. Should it be more then half an hour before she gets there?

I would go at least an hour ahead if you're going to an event attended by both Charles and Camilla. If you're going to her one solo event in B.C., 45 minutes ahead might be safe. But think about how long you'd feel comfortable standing and go as early as possible based on that just to be sure!

Drizzle greets Charles, Camilla in Victoria

Taking shelter under umbrellas from a light Vancouver Island drizzle, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, made a fashionably late arrival in Victoria Friday to begin a four-day visit to British Columbia.

Here is my last batch of photos taken last night at the Presentation of New Colours for the Royal Regiment of Canada and the Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Own). Click on the photo for more!

Raining in Victoria? What a surprise!;)

If there's a section of veterans, disabled people, or elderly people in wheelchairs, stand near them. They get extra attention.:flowers:

Charles won't be there just Camilla. My mom thinks we should go around 1:15 since she is supposed to arrive at 1:50. The only thing I'm afraid of is freezing to death but hopefully it's worth the wait :flowers:

Thanks I'll have a look when we get there. Wish me luck you guys!:flowers:

Good luck, ghost_night. I hope you get a good spot and get to speak to Camilla. And don't forget to take your camera. :flowers:

Thanks Roslyn! I got my camera in my bag and ready to go! :flowers: I'll give you guys a run down of what happened as soon as I get home tomorrow.

Daniel Szoller didn’t expect security agents to disperse the crowd of over 100 to make way for Prince Charles and Camilla until he saw the royal couple approach his cheese stand.

Royals end Ont. tour | Toronto & GTA | News | Toronto Sun

Camilla Parker-Bowles has made an impression on Canadians on her first visit to the country this week.

The Duchess of Cornwall has displayed her regal sense of fashion with Prince Charles by her side on a three-day visit to Toronto before jetting back to British Columbia for the final leg of their trip.

The Duchess of Cornwall dazzles Toronto in regal style with Prince Charles by her side

The recent slams against Prince Charles are uninformed and unfair. His visit to Montreal is primarily to present new colours to that venerable city institution, the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and to greet Black Watch soldiers who have just returned from tours in Afghanistan.

Prince Charles is here to fulfill his duty

The Duchess of Cornwall came face-to-face with her teenage past when she was reunited with a friend she had not seen for 45 years.
Camilla, 62, was 17 years old and crazy about the Beatles and make-up when she last saw Charlotte Ericson at the Swiss finishing school Mon Fertile.

As if to defy polls showing Canadians couldn't give a hoot about the Royal Family, Queen's Park was all abuzz last Wednesday. As soon as the bells clanged signalling the end of the legislative day, MPPs and staff scrubbed up and stampeded for the exits, all heading in the same direction -- a reception for Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at the posh Carlu.

"Camilla! Lottie here!" - continuation from the above:

But her former classmate - nicknamed Lottie - was determined to meet the Duchess when she visited Victoria, British Colombia, on Friday as the royal continued her tour of Canada with the Prince of Wales.

Armed with a placard she had made which read "Camilla! Lottie Here, Remember Mon Fertile 1963-1964?" Mrs Ericson, 62, waited for her friend outside the province's parliament.

When the royal couple went on a walkabout after a ceremonial welcome outside the building the Duchess stopped and greeted her friend. Mrs Ericson, who like Camilla has two grandchildren, said: "She recognised me and said hello. It was great to see her. She told me she had recently seen some pictures of us all, so she must have been in touch with some of the girls from the school."

It was an obscure joke that didn't have much currency in Canada. But it was enough to make the Duchess of Cornwall smile.
Ralph Frayne had just shaken the hand of Prince Charles Thursday aboard the HMCS Haida -- the destroyer Frayne had served on during the Second World War

 Not a joke even here, more an insult, if he handed her the coin, weird!

Bweir...these are great pictures! Thank you for sharing them.

Judging by your great pics, wbenson, I don't think we've been more than 10 feet away from each other at the Carlu, Dundurn Castle OR Varsity Stadium!
It's a shame you guys didn't realize it, you could've actually met each other. How cool would that be to meet another person on the forum. :)

Prince Charles will be handed a reminder of treaty promises made by the Crown more than a century ago when he attends a dinner at Government House tonight.
Shawn Atleo, national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, will be a guest at the dinner hosted by Lt.-Gov. Steven Point and Premier Gordon Campbell. He plans to hand a statement about treaties to the Prince of Wales' staff.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have another event-packed day ahead of them now that their royal visit has shifted to British Columbia.
The couple will spend the morning touring the Olympic and Paralympic village in Vancouver

Quick update before I leave they have just arrived at YVR and are heading to the Olympic Village to have a tour and meet the atheletes.

Alright so here we go, well me and my mom left the house at around 12:20pm and headed to Safeway and bought a bouquet of flowers which I was hoping to give to Camilla. We arrived at VanDusen Botanical Gardens at 12:57pm and waited in the car for a while until we saw more people arriving. Afterwards we headed inside because rumours began to fly that they would block off the front entrance and we wouldn't be able to meet with her before she went inside the gardens. We decided to take our chances and wait outside. As the time approached for her arrival a bigger crowd began to form. We spoke with others in the crowd while we waited. All of a sudden out of nowhere RCMP pops up in front of my face and scares the living daylights out of me well turns out all they wanted to do was check my bouquet of flowers. The man was really nice and funny. He told me Camilla will most likely come to talk to you and he told me exactly what to do and how to act. When he gave me back the flowers he told me " alright everything looks good you don't look like a terrorist" and we both laughed. Finally the time arrived I saw the Royal car pull up and I started to freak out in my head. She got out and slowly took her time and shook everybody's hand. She finally reached where I was. She came up to me I said " Hello so nice to meet you (I'm a total idiot I forgot to call her Your Royal Highness) and I shook her hand. She said thank you so much for coming out and then looked at my flowers and said are those for me in which I nodded. She then took the flowers from me. Security went to take them from her but she wanted to carry them. She then waited for my mom to finish taking a picture of her and also shook her hand! She musta thought I was retarded cause I was like so star struck I musta looked like a complete idiot while I was looking at her. Anyways we were freezing so we ran into the car and decided to ditch our original plans of having lunch at the restaurant in the building and just go home and have lunch. I have to say she is such a sweet person and she is really beautiful in real life. I am just shocked and I really think anyone who has a problem with Camilla should think twice. I have no idea what the press' problem is with her but she was absolutely lovely. I definitely enjoyed myself it was everything I'd ever imagined and more. So here are my pics. They aren't the greatest since all the umbrella's were getting in our way.

Dundurn Castle?

Why did they go to Dundurn Castle ? It is just an overblown mansion actually with low ceilings. Much ado about nothing.

Camilla is a descendant of Sir Allan MacNab, who had the residence built.

Fantastic story and great photos, ghost_night! Congratulations!!!

... :ermm::huh::blink:

You really haven't followed this visit, have you?

Your photos are wonderful, ghost_night. They are more special than photos taken by professionals because you took them, and they will help you recall the event. It's great you have a pic of her holding the flowers you gave her. The first shot of Camilla extending her hand is a very nice one. Your excitement comes through in your report. What fun for you. :flowers:

Ghost_night thanks for the detailed account of what happened and for the pictures. It makes me feel like I was there. What a wonderful experience that I'm sure you'll never forget!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I don't think I'll ever forget today. You guys greatly helped me out too in answering my questions in the days leading up to this. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow so I can go and print my photos and put them into a photo album along with the letter and book I received just 2 days earlier from Prince Charles. I can't wait to see what's in store for them tomorrow in Victoria should be great. I hope they enjoy the rest of their trip. :flowers:

ghost_night-great pictures. Did you get a letter and book from PrinceCharles because you wrote to Him? What is the book subject. I went back a few posts, but didn't see any to answer my questions. Sorry.:);):)

Congratulations ghost_night554, I am so glad you were given the chance to see and talk to her. The photographs are wonderful and I am certain she didn't think you were an idiot. Once again, congratulations.:flowers:

The Duchess of Cornwall has been hailed as a Queen by an admirer who stole a kiss from the royal.
Canadian Daniel Logue, 43, surprised Camilla by taking her hand and planting a kiss on it as she toured a botanical garden in Vancouver.
The duchess appeared flattered by the attention of her fan who told her just before he made the affectionate gesture: "I'd like to kiss the hand of the future Queen of England."

Ya I wrote to him thanking him for all his hard work over the years and that I was excited for them to come to Vancouver and he wrote back and sent me a book about his Rainforest Project :flowers: And thanks Sky haha I totally had like a blackout moment when she came up to me. I was so shocked which honestly I didn't think I would be that I wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying to her so it's a miracle I even remember as much as I do. My mom's face when she shook her hand was priceless

:previous: You are more than welcome, you will probably remember more when the shock finally wears off. :flowers:
----------------------------

No royal trip is complete without a silly hat, and yesterday it was the turn of Prince Charles and Camilla to don questionable head gear.

And with his mother still going strong as she approaches 60 years on the throne, it is the nearest the Prince of Wales will come to being crowned for the foreseeable future.
Still, he was delighted to receive the eye-catching First Nations headdress at a dinner in British Columbia yesterday mid-way through his gruelling 11-day tour of Canada.
First Nations is a term of ethnicity that refers to the indigenous Aboriginal people of Canada.

King for a day: Prince Charles is 'crowned' on trip to Canada with Camilla | Mail Online

Wait wait a minute! Did i really read these following sentences IN THE D... MAIL:eek::eek::eek::

" After an initially cool welcome, Charles and Camilla's 'meet and greet' trip has been greeted by increasing enthusiasm by Canadians, who have praised their warmth and enthusiasm.
Many commentators have expressed surprise at the 'surprisingly stylish' Duchess, who was last night wearing a midnight blue 'corset-style' top and skirt by designer Anna Valentine."

I'm shocked :ROFLMAO:
