The only times I have heard about rosacea are when I read news about Prince Charles and Prince Harry.

Is it possible that the article was referring to porphyria, which George III's thought to have had, instead? But, again, it's highly unlikely that the royal porphyria genes are still around. Charles hasn't got any medical problems AFAIK. He was probably tested because of his age.
Thanks Alison. I was wondering more if it stemmed from historical haemophilia in the family and not actual haemophilia - the aftermath, more or less. But you have answered my question.

Nice to hear he has now been declared recovered but that makes me doubt th onset date.

However, if that is correct he is the poster man for mild cases and a little encouragement goes a long way.

Get that man on TV and help calm the fear.

It looks to me a little bit early to suspend self-isolation, but if his doctors gave him the all-clear, they must know what they are doing.

I am also glad Prince Charles has made a full recovery. It gives hope to people to see that even a 71-year-old can survive this terrible disease. We are all a little bit shaken right now and need that kind of encouragement.

Besides, Prince Charles has also proven that a healthy lifestyle eventually pays off in times of need.

Please note that posts relating to the Queen and abdication have been edited/removed - this is not the thread for that discussion.

You seem to have missed Marg’s point...who cares if he’s not King? This would be about helping people, something Charles is very good at.

Beautifully said. I’m so glad Charles is well - and I think his comments were much needed.

Very well done by the prince!

Yes, much relief to see and hear from Prince Charles. So glad he is recovered and appears to be regaining his pre-COVID activities. Lovely speech!

That was The King to come. What a well-formulated and coherent speech, spoken with empathy and understanding.

I agree. Very much spoken as the (future) king. While I wish the queen many more years; her succession is firmly in place: both Charles and William are ready for what lies ahead.

Charles is a compassionate man. Both he & his eldest son will make fine kings.

UK should be proud to have a man like this as a future king.

Google "W.C. Fields". He had pretty bad rosacea. It can make your whole nose swell up. I think Charles has it but I don't know about Harry. It can be related to drinking but doesn't have to be - my grandmother had it (though in her case it was just a red flush) and she never took a drink in her life.

It was more noticeable on Harry when he was in his teens and twenties. Diana may have had a mild form of rosacea as well. She sometimes had a red flush on her cheeks and neck.

I commend Prince Charles for his well chosen words of hope.
It was lovely to hear and it was so true - what he said about the thousands of people out there working and caring for each other.

It was apparent to me when visiting Ireland and Britain that they are compassionate, beautiful people, beyond measure, and it is totally predictable that they are banding together in the fight against Covid 19.

All our nations are feeling the same anxiety in our neighbourhoods. We are witnessing the same selfless battle.
I welcome Prince Charles, as a World leader and as our monarch's heir, broadcasting his uniting and relevant message.
