When I read "rude" t-shirt I wondered what the fuss what about.... Well, it is not a fine thing, but not necessarily the end of the world...

As a true animal lover, I can imagine that this news made Camilla a very, very happy woman.

As an animal lover and proud ASPCA member it makes me happy too! I think it's fantastic that Camilla uses her position to give a voice to these poor creatures... BRAVO to her for that!

Interesting article, but I don't think the author is right about Australia's attitude towards the Queen:
Coolly “accepted” or at best “respected” perhaps describes her long relationship with the Australian people. I've always thought it was a very affectionate relationship.
Anyway, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall arrived earlier today. It looks like there was a good turn out in Tanunda to greet them. The ABC has just shown the Duchess of Cornwall at Government House in Adelaide with Rosie Battie, Australian of the Year, and prominent family violence campaigner. I thought the Duchess looked tired, but she spoke well.
Royal Visit (also includes a quiz, I got 9 right, though 2 were a guess).

I totally agree with you about the regard in which HM is held here. Very affectionate.
I'm glad to see a good turnout for Charles and Camilla in SA. I hope they draw good crowds everywhere else during their tour.

A very detailed and lengthy report of day one from The Advertiser in Adelaide:

I just watched some of the coverage of the Remembrance Day service at the War Memorial in Canberra. A very moving occasion.
It's a miserable day down there, drizzling, though it looks as though it might not be cold, just miserable. Charles & Camilla each have umbrellas. They've sat there for at least 45 minutes so far and the service doesn't finish for another 45 minutes. I could get up and walk away, but they have to stay there till it's over. And this is just one of many, many similar occasions for them they will have to attend for the rest of their lives, under the watchful eye of the cameras. I don't envy them their job at all.
Quite a good crowd, but I think there's a good crowd for that service every year, so I'm not sure how many extras are due to the Royal presence.
