Yes I was just trying to emphasise that Dodi DID make some vague attempt to have a film career.. perhaps he hoped to become a Lothario getting pretty girls off his own bat, but it didn't work out

The 80's are largely remembered as a time when cocaine became fashionable in the film industry, available at every party, or night club, such as Studio 54, where Dodi liked to go. One gal recalled.. "I danced in Studio54. It was a fun place to be, full of celebrities. Studying fashion at FIT NYC, I Never saw him drink or do drugs. He liked pretty girls, and danced. We never knew he was rich, he seemed polite and nice."

So this was a guy that knew how to party or attract women to the dance floor, which says something about him. According to an author, he brought an entourage of friends to a Saint Tropez dance club during a late afternoon, Diana and others in tow, with him leading on the floor, where a good time was had by all.

His friends were largley his friends because he was rich. He hung out with celebrities because his father's money gave him the means to do so. If he had not been rich I doubt veyr much if he would have had a large number of pretty girlfriends. and it seems like the few that genuinely liked him did so in a pitying motherly way because he wasn't confident or particularly handsome or able to manage his own life

He may not have been an Adonis, but if a handful of competing gentlemen were in that situation with Diana back then.. would a yacht and wealth be enough for things to work out mutually between them? Most men would would regard her return trip the second time, a more private setting, as being in a relationship of some kind.

Diana was lonley, and beginning to give up on her affair with Hasnat Khan. She knew Dodi's father and he had been kind to her so she was willing to date his son and see how things went. Indications are that after a few weeks she was getting fed up with him and thinking of ending the summer romance

An absolute tragedy, truly the best of us are taken too early.

I was a little surprised in revisiting original broadcasts of the night in Paris, that in hindsight they don't seem to carry much of the tension of the night, hearing events unfold, of the Mercedes and passengers involved.

I don't know if Patrick Doyle's 'Sense and Sensibility' inspired 'Time' from Hans Zimmer's 'soundtrack. But it's effective in recalling the evening.. in a way, that news outlets were not really able to capture :
