Notice that neither Diana or Charles are wearing seatbelts.

Pic- Diana at the Royal Gala Premiere Performance of Les Miserables, London, 1985
@ Nata- This pic was part of a set from an earlier post of yours. At the time, I did not have a description, though I knew I had seen this photo with a description in one of my Diana books.
Tonight, by chance I was reading that Diana book, and came across this photo with description, so I thought I'd post it now! Hope that's OK!

I love the fact that she got to see the opening night of one of the legendary pieces of musical theatre. I can see by her smile that she was enjoying herself. 'Les Miserables' is one of my top three favorite musicals, probably because it carries a message of compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love and acceptance; all things Diana believed in and practiced too.

When Lady Sarah was acting as Diana's lady-in-waiting during the 90s, she'd often show up in something that Diana had worn before.

Your'e welcome Nata, but now I doubt the description of the 3rd pic in # 1135 is correct! It is different from the one taken at the musical. I am sorry.

Close, nata; the man's Egyptian.;) That's Hosni Mubarak, the recently deposed president of Egypt. Diana made a solo visit there in 1992. He does have a similar appearance to Dodi, though.

:lol:sorry!! you have the reason...I don't Know what I was thinking:whistling: Now I already corrected!! thank you for say me :flowers:;)

Its interesting looking at this photo 19 years later after everything that has happened to Egypt. I wonder why she visited him, the tour was a charitable one no?

The trip would have been official, and Diana stayed at the British Ambassador's residence. As the Princess of Wales, she still would have been representing the Queen when she made visits. So even though she wouldn't have been personally interested perhaps in meeting with Mr. Mubarak, it would have been the thing to do in terms of protocol and practice.

Diana was in Egypt on behalf of a charity helping babies with polio. As a courtesy she called on the President.
BTW, she was quite involved in the cause of childhood polio. It was the reason for her visit to Argentina in 1995, as well.

I see, even after the divorce during her charitable visits she still met with heads of states or primarily their wives.

Even though Diana separated from Prince Charles in late 1992, she was still The Princess of Wales until their divorce during the summer of 1996. She didn't travel as an independent figure in her own right until after the divorce, and so courtesy calls to heads of state would have been made as the Queen's representative. All members of the Royal Family make their official visits and trips as part of helping the Queen in her duties.

I understand Mermaid, with the divorce the Princess no longer represented the Queen and traveled as an independent figure. What didn't change was that she still remained a very famous figure on the world stage and naturally on her charitable visits to other countries post divorce she still met with prominent members of that country including their wives ex. Hillary Clinton, The first lady of Angola etc etc

Thank you all for the lovely photos and videos of Diana, Princess of Wales. I have been enjoying them for a long time.

Every day I come to here to get my fix of Princess Diana.

Again thanks.:);):)

1st pic- Launch of the Child Bereavement Trust ( founded by her childhood friend Julia Samuel), of which she became Patron, ( Prince William now is), Royal College of Nursing, London, 1994.
2nd Pic- Visit to Milestone House AIDS Hospice, Edinburgh, Scotland, 1991. I love this pic. I admire the abilty Diana had,to bring happiness and laughter to terminally ill people, and her comfort level doing so.

Even though the clothes are completely mismatched she looks great in this picture :flowers:
I love the way she looks at the camera, she was so photogenic-no miracle she was the most photographed woman in the world!

@Nata 8904-
I really enjoyed your Diana tribute video...nice collection of pictures and the song is well-chosen...it made me really sentimental &I still get very sad when I think about her unhappiness and her tragic death at this young age:sad:
