I remember reading about the family that Diana used to babysit for. How nice to have kept in touch. I'm on the fence about the statue, because even though a part of me understands the sentiments behind such a memorial, another part says that perhaps it's just a bit much. The fact that Diana resided in that place is a memory in itself. Perhaps it's time to let her rest in peace.

As far as I know, public statues are erected in Britain for monarchs and significant national leaders--such as former prime ministers (Churchill, for instance), generals, and admirals. If someone wanted to commission a statue of Diana to put on their personal property, that's another matter.
