She was in the McDonald's off Kensington High Street with the boys the day before they were due to return to school. To my knowledge, the Princess was never in Philadelphia, but was sent what she called her "American football jacket" by a friend was was from Philly, Chestnut Hill, to be exact.

If this is the same taffeta gown Diana wore for some Snowdon official photos for her engagement, then it really brings home just how much weight she lost in one short year plus a little more, if the 1982 on the link is the correct date. It hurts the heart to think of how much the Princess suffered during that bleak period of her life, especially when one considers how very young she was at that point. While the information provided by those who knew the Princess makes me doubt it, part of me still hopes she really did find love with Dodi Fayed as the idea of Diana dying without ever knowing the gentle and considerate love she deserved is intolerable to anyone whose life she ever touched, and she certainly touched the hearts of many, many people...
 
Yes, it was right after the birth of William and she was not feeling well at all mentally. This is indeed the same dress as at her engagement portraits.

I for myself do not think that it was real love between Dodi and Diana, and i do not believe all the marriage rumours. I read in several books that is was just a fling and she just wanted some happines for a while. and that is what i believe too.

Second and third picture I've never seen before. They're both lovely of course. The first one I've seen on covers of various magazines over the years.

Thank you for the pictures. I'm not a fan of this dress though. If the black ended at her waist, it would have been all right, if the dress was one solid color, it would have been better. This is one of her choices I'm not too thrilled with.

In the second picture of the second set, Diana's smile is identical to William's. So eerie to see sometimes. The picture in the first set is kind of funny. Diana is smiling, and the other person looks rather displeased. Wonder what was happening.

To Daria_S: Yes it is, there isn't that many out there like that. I love pictures that show her genuine smile.

To roseroyal: I too love the love, happiness, joy, and laughter that picture shows. It shows that at times she was truly happy.
 
I think in later years, she was genuinely happy a lot of the time. And, I think she was always happiest when helping others or when she was with her sons.

True she was in the later years and when she was helping others and with her sons. I just wish we had more pictures where we could say 'oh she's genuinely happy in this.' I hope William and Harry have lots of pictures of her like that.
