Diana and Sons Picture Thread

No matter how sad it is about Diana. I is wonderful that William and Harry have SO MANY pictures of them with the mum! Most of us have only a handful of picture when we were small. I know that they hated it, but now they can look back and really remember how much that she loved them. ;)

Wow all this pictures look brilliant. I enjoyed looking at them!
Diana looks so at ease with her children. She was a great mother.
I was just wondering where all the pictures come from? I only know about a few websites.

For Corazon, some photos from Dec. 14, 1983, in the garden at Kensington Palace. William was almost 18 months old.

Two months before the pictures above, Diana was photographed with William at Aberdeen Airport. He was wearing a different little jacket with colorful appliques. Oct. 24, 1983:

To all those who posted the photos on this thread--thank you. It's always enjoyable to look back at over the years and seening the boys grow up.:)

I love those pictures of Diana wearing her cream sweaterdress and red boots. Very fashionable again.

One thing no-one can dispute, not even the Queen herself, is that Princess Diana was a loving, caring, wonderful Mum and raised two great boys who she loved so much and who loved her in return. That to me is her greatest legacy - when she could have had a nanny do it!

Thanks gfg02. Can you imagine it was that long ago. Now Will is a big guy and in a couple of years he's going to get married.

great photos from wiliam's christening, thanks for posted it.
diana lost all the weight of the pregnancy

Every time I see photos of Diana and her sons, I can't avoid to think that now, these two young men are without the lovingly care of their mother. Sometimes, young people has more need of their parents than when they were little boys and girls.

Yes, I've always thought Harry looks a lot like his Aunt Sarah. It's sort of funny that the gossip mongers get so worked up about Harry's red hair (JUST like James Hewitt...) while conveniently forgetting to mention that his mother's side of the family is populated largely by redheads.
I couldnt agree more, I dont believe JH is PH father, just because of that. But then again i see where people get the "JH being the real father"thing, because they do look quite alike.

I agree that Harry looks a lot like his aunt Sarah. Here's a picture of a young Johnny Spencer,Diana's father and a picture of Harry and Hewitt.

Hewitt bears a strong resemblance to a young Earl Edward John Spencer.Maybe that's why Diana was attracted to him,she loved her father so.I don't think Hewitt is Harry's father, either. The "Love Rat" was paid to give this interview while under hypnosis, and I don't believe that the subconscious is a reliable memory source...it's been years since I was in Graduate School of Education and Pyschology, but I remember that the subconscious is affected by so many things... And then, I just have a problem believing anything Hewitt says;he's been trying to sell love letters from Diana to the highest bidder, and he sells interviews about the affair. It's like he's capitalizing on his resemblance to Harry and his affair with Diana just to make money. No wonder tongues are wagging. It's too bad that many people just can't put themselves in Harry's shoes;this is heart-breaking.Harry's lost his mother and now some cad is blabbing his mouth about his affair with her and is insinuating that he's the father...
I've been reading Christopher Andersen's new book After Diana, and in it her says that Hewitt, while under hypnosis said he met Diana in 1981,before her wedding. His version of things just doesn't ring true;Diana knew how important it was to give Charles an heir and a spare. At that time, before Harry's birth she still had hopes that the marriage would work out;it was only after the birth of Harry that she realized it was hopeless.I don't think that she started the affair with Hewitt until after Harry was born.
In the book,After Diana, Andersen mentions that Harry offered to take a DNA test but the Queen thought it too demeaning to Harry to submit to that indignity;the Windsors consider Harry theirs. This Hewitt problem is really bothering Harry;no wonder he drinks too much and is said to have some problems.

In My opinion, HRH Prince Henry("Prince Harry")has his "Papa's"(HRH Prince of Wales)eyes.

Does anybody else see it?

Check out www.PrinceOfWales.com.

I have no idea, what Camilla(Duchess of Cornwall)is doing on the site(listed above, as a link).

Hewitt does look a lot like a young Earl Spencer -- amazing resemblance. Wasn't the Earl a womanizer? Anyway, Harry looks nothing like Hewitt -- Harry has that Windsor look -- no doubt about it.

Wonderful, wonderful thread because of the beautiful pictures of Diana and her two boys. They are her greatest legacy.
Just really brightened up my day to see these pictures again. Thank you to all of you who posted them.

Diana as Mother

Maybe Diana wasnt the best wife, daughter in law or princess.

But she seemed to be a womderful Mother?

Do you think it was right of her to let her sons lead very normal lives knowing that they will or rather Prince William will one day be king?

Do you think she showered too much love and affection on her children, knowing they will have trials to face?

I don't think it is possible to give too much love or affection to a child, however I think she was wrong to allow them to believe they were able to act as normal people. They can't be 'normal' if they want to be seen as 'royal'. :flowers:

I think she was wrong to use her children as her confidantes, especially William. She couldn't have expected them to have a healthy relationship with their father after all that.

I know she was hurt but...

In general I'm sure she was a great mother. You only had to listen to Harry talk about her to know that.

i totally agree. to burden her children with her problems is an awful thing to do. i suppose she felt that her children were the only people she could really trust.

Has anyone other than Diana or people whom Diana spoke to support the claims that she confided in her children about deeply personal matters? If not, I wonder whether Diana put the story forward in order to emphasize how understanding and mature William was; i.e. "top job" material as opposed to her husband, whom she claimed ignored her.

good question mermaid. i think that diana meant well when she did confide in william and like a lot of parents that go through divorce she probably said her share of negative things about charles to the boys. but whether she was trying to test william's maturity or just venting it was, and always is, a bad idea.

Oh yes, confinding about personal things to young children is a no-go. Definitely.

I enjoyed all the pictures but this is my favourite one - I like the background against which the photo was taken - a dark painting emphasising Lady Di in the picture. Harry is looking at his mother in a caring way and Willie seems to be getting more and more clever and confident. Di is a caring mother as well as an elegant lady here. (As usual).
Thank you maryamj - a very pretty piture! :)

She was a great mother and person.I like specially the first pic. Thanks maryamj.

I think it's really neat that a younger generation is seeing these pictures of Diana. Those of us who were Diana's age have been looking at them for years, but these pictures still have the ability to give great enjoyment to people.:flowers:

Willie and Charry are really nice here. The pictures with the umbrellas is one of my favourite and this with Harry - just cute.

The history of Diana is actually passed through generation to generation and people remember her. Youngsters are curious about her life and want to get to know more and more. I also think Diana's style inspires them as she's a style icon and her respect towards other people is something like a code of behaviour for those who know her life only from older people...
