And I am waiting the news about her sister's wedding.

It means I'd like to read less about her, especially in this thread, and more about her father and other gorgeous siblings.

Simple.

:previous: I like Viscount Althorp's tank top with the capital S. The S could also stand for Spencer.

Well, I thought, he is the heir of the Spencer estate.

Do we know, if he studied something more "realistic" beforehand, like forest economy or something, that might help him to fulfill his duties later on?

His father the Earl is a successful historian and writer, neither of those having to do with the concrete responsibilities of such a landed peer. And I don't know if Charles studied either for that or for something more practical. But what a peer does doesn't necessarily have to do with what they're inheriting.

His Lordship can appoint a professional for the management of his estate. Or outsource it to special firms.

I believe that Charles read History at Oxford....

Two collections that were historical and were a deep part of Althorp's legacy were the vast library and the classical paintings that were priceless. In the Earl Charles Spencer's book, 'Althorp, The Story of an English House' he describes in detail many of these paintings, their subject matter, and the artists. A portion of the library was sold off at one time in order to keep Althorp financially stable. Several paintings however were sold off by Countess Raine Spencer after she married the 8th Earl Spencer. This angered Diana and her sisters as they felt she didn't have the right to do this. Therefore it does not surprise me that Louis Spencer would have taken a great interest in art history. He grew up in Cape Town South Africa, but I'm assuming there was still a substantial amount of art there as well. It will be interesting to see how his life and career develops in the future.

Is it possible to buy back some of the paintings Countess Raine Spencer sold?

If they were to come onto the open market yes they could buy them back but they would cost a lot more now than they did when they were sold. Many of these families are asset rich but cash poor so buying things like paintings isn't something they tend to do - more likely to sell them to pay death duties and other taxes.

I wouldn’t entirely trust Diana and Charles opinion on that. They were probably necessarily sold to raise much needed cash. They wouldn’t be the most reliable source when it comes to Raine. She wasn’t popular with the Spencer family and probably scapegoated.

Raine did make a mess of the sales of the artworks, but the family was having financial issues and she tried to help. Charles Spencer sold off some paintings in 2010 as well, but probably handled it better than Raine did. Plus the Spencers have been selling goods for a long time and some of the previous Earls had been in debt.

Lady Amelia and Greg's announcement is fabulous news. Another wedding to look forward to!

I wonder if Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex will be present.

Of the two brothers, Prince William may attend the wedding. Who knows if Prince Henry will be anywhere in Great Britain at the time.
