This is another picture of Caroline at that event. It occurred to me that she looks all the more like an Italian Renaissance Virgin as she is wearing blue, the color of the Virgin. Although, after doing some research, I found that she also resembles paintings of Marie-Madgadene. I guess it is the inescapable seductiveness in her, which is not exactly becoming in the representation of the Virgin !
 
I'll try again to post the pictures of Marie-Magdalene that remind me of Princess Caroline.

Great photo Tosca! It reminds me of the photos of Charlotte on one of their ski vacations - when she was younger and her hair was about the same length. If I am remembering correctly she even had a shirt on with writing on it. I think both of them look great with that length of hair!

I think it was this famous night she wore this dress without the broch, and her breast was shown and taken on picture. It made a scandal at this time and Pcss Grace was very angry!

Ani, I don't think Grace ever lit up.

She didn't like smoking and wasn't keen on her children starting up, either.

As for Caroline smoking in front of her Mum?
Heck, she did THAT all the time!

Grace used to excuse her kids' seemingly-rebellious behaviour by saying: Well, they ARE Mediterrean, you know! :eek:

She had to have meant it jokingly ... I would hope so!

I can recall seeing pictures of Caroline driving Bjorn Borg in this car- he's perched high on the back (wouldn't be allowed nowadays), & if I remember right it was a cream open top mercedes. I'll have a look & see if I can find a picture.

Oh, I had read on the forums that Grace had smoked. Now I love her even more because opposed it! The whole Mediterrenean thing isn't an excuse, but I think she was just vouching for her children.

Carolina has been a heavy smoker since she was a teen. What a pity.

Though I say it myself, in the pic on the right hand side in the 6th row, she looks like me when we were both teens! Tomorrow I'm turning 50 myself!:furious:
