I think she wore that dress twice, once for those family pics and then at a ball or similar occasion..

They were very against it; it was a great scandal--but you can't blame the parents---it was all Caroline's doing--she was very rebellious.

What was the big scandal? I was about the same age as Caroline was when she married Junot and I couldn't figure out what she saw in him and even though she was quite beautiful - what did Philippe see in her? 17 years is a big difference in age!

I think Philippe saw social status....but eventually I think he felt trapped. I honestly don't think he was a strong enough man to reject a princess once the wedding was on, especially with Rainier breathing hovering about!
