Congrats to the new parents!
I'm hoping to see Stefano honored in the little boy's name.

He's probably gonna be named for both of his deceased grandfathers. Perhaps as a first name they'll choose Charles (for Charles III, the founder of the Monte Carlo Casino), I don't think they're gonna use Rainier, they'll probably leave that for Albert and Charlene to use.

The baby's name will be of great interest especially if they name the boy after a Prince of Monaco.
There were 5 Honoré's, 3 Charles and Rainier's, 2 Alberts,Louis's and Jean's and a Lucien,Lamberto,Hercule and Antonio and Jacques.
I like Rainier-Stefano myself

When Charlotte was to be born the monegasques were hoping P. Caroline would call the baby Grace, as her grandmother. Her parents however seemed to have thought that such a name would be to « heavy » for the little girl to use. I ask the same question: wouldn't the names of his two dead grandfathers be a big burdon for the little boy to bear?
And Pierre already carries Stefano's and Rainier's names...

I think that Caroline had announced before giving birtg to Charlotte that if she had a girl she would name after heir grand mother.
Charlotte came less than 4 years after Pcs Grace passed, at this time it would be too heavy to name her Grace.
Is different for the baby, 23 years after.

That differ from person to person, I guess. I personally wouldn't mind naming my child after his or her dead grandparents, I actually think it's a nice tribute. Also, I don't see why Pierre's other names are of any relevance? It would make sense that Andrea would honour his father by giving his name to his son.

Grace's name is probably being saved for one of PA's children, since he is the ruler.
Giancarlo has a nice sound to it. You also have to take into consideration that there is a small chance that Andrea may have to change his name to Grimaldi in the future.

I don't think the chances that he may have to change his surname to Grimaldi are very small.

Giancarlo was Stefano's father name... That's a possibility...

I think Giancarlo is a nice name but I just can't picture a Prince Giancarlo of Monaco.
I agree with the posters who see Andrea as a future Grimaldi.

I think newborn baby is not Prince. But, if Prince Albert have not child or son, Andrea's son sitting in the Throne. (Not in the Iron Throne! LOL)
Giancarlo his name? It's official?
Congrats to Andrea, Tatiana, Princess Caroline and the his Family!

I don't think it's official yet, Capri.
Although I do really like Giancarlo. I like it a lot actually. Everyone is focused on naming him after Rainier or Stefano because they are his deceased ancestors... but so is Giancarlo. This is so like A&T to throw us a curve ball.
Maxence is still my favorite choice though, with Max for short. It was one of Rainier's middle names. Max is light and cute for a baby/child, but he can go by Maxence as a man (or Prince).
