Congratulations to Andrea & Tatiana and both of their families. I can't wait to hear the name!

Congratulations to Andrea and Tatiana! wow, time flies.Andrea was the cutest baby ever. It's also bittersweet that Stefano never met his first grandson nor saw his children grow.

I'm happy for Princess Caroline..this is such a great news! a new generation, new blood.Princess Alexandra is now a young auntie!

For Andrea and Tatiana I will paraphrase Grace to say congratulations and thankyou for renewing our faith in life via your best creation. To Caro thankyou and commendations for being such a great captain of the ship of life.Congrats to the uncles and aunts as well. I wish Stefano was here. But I am certain he maybe watching happily from somewhere.

I would like if they named him Stefano but they are an untraditional couple so I would be surprised.

Congratulations to the new parents! And their grandmothers too.

I would love "Stefano" a nice tribute to their father.
Do not forget that Andrea is named after a Stefano's very good friend, disappeared young.

Congrats to the new parents!

I'm hoping to see Stefano honored in the little boy's name.

Congrats to Andrea & Tatiana!
Congrats to Princess Caroline & Mrs. Vera Santo Domingo!
Congrats to new uncles and aunts!

He's probably gonna be named for both of his deceased grandfathers. Perhaps as a first name they'll choose Charles (for Charles III, the founder of the Monte Carlo Casino), I don't think they're gonna use Rainier, they'll probably leave that for Albert and Charlene to use.

Lovely news. It should be some party at the Rose Ball tomorrow.

The baby's name will be of great interest especially if they name the boy after a Prince of Monaco.

There were 5 Honoré's, 3 Charles and Rainier's, 2 Alberts,Louis's and Jean's and a Lucien,Lamberto,Hercule and Antonio and Jacques.

I like Rainier-Stefano myself :)

I think that Pierre has as second name Rainier, am'I wrong?

:previous:

His complete name is Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi :flowers:

When Charlotte was to be born the monegasques were hoping P. Caroline would call the baby Grace, as her grandmother. Her parents however seemed to have thought that such a name would be to « heavy » for the little girl to use. I ask the same question: wouldn't the names of his two dead grandfathers be a big burdon for the little boy to bear?
And Pierre already carries Stefano's and Rainier's names...:ermm:

I think that Caroline had announced before giving birtg to Charlotte that if she had a girl she would name after heir grand mother.
Charlotte came less than 4 years after Pcs Grace passed, at this time it would be too heavy to name her Grace.
Is different for the baby, 23 years after.

That differ from person to person, I guess. I personally wouldn't mind naming my child after his or her dead grandparents, I actually think it's a nice tribute. Also, I don't see why Pierre's other names are of any relevance? It would make sense that Andrea would honour his father by giving his name to his son.

Congrats to them! I read they ll name him Giancarlo :flowers:

Grace's name is probably being saved for one of PA's children, since he is the ruler.

Giancarlo has a nice sound to it. You also have to take into consideration that there is a small chance that Andrea may have to change his name to Grimaldi in the future.

I don't think the chances that he may have to change his surname to Grimaldi are very small.

Giancarlo was Stefano's father name... That's a possibility...

So very happy and excited for Tatiana and Andrea! What great news!

I think Giancarlo is a nice name but I just can't picture a Prince Giancarlo of Monaco.

I agree with the posters who see Andrea as a future Grimaldi.

I think newborn baby is not Prince. But, if Prince Albert have not child or son, Andrea's son sitting in the Throne. (Not in the Iron Throne! LOL)

Giancarlo his name? It's official?

Congrats to Andrea, Tatiana, Princess Caroline and the his Family!

I don't think it's official yet, Capri.

Although I do really like Giancarlo. I like it a lot actually. Everyone is focused on naming him after Rainier or Stefano because they are his deceased ancestors... but so is Giancarlo. This is so like A&T to throw us a curve ball.

Maxence is still my favorite choice though, with Max for short. It was one of Rainier's middle names. Max is light and cute for a baby/child, but he can go by Maxence as a man (or Prince).

WHOO HOO - congratulations for Andrea and Tatiana!! I can't wait for pictures and more news!!
