of course they are going to ask about him and family but the majority has been placing the focus on the veterans and wounded soldiers. on the Invictus Games

It was a fantastic opening ceremony, wasn't it? I have read several people's comments on it, who said they were very moved by it all, and some cried.

Why sad? I think the athletes' efforts are inspiring!

Not just good natured but good marketing:D

The best way to get the word out is not interviews. It is social media. I bet 10 times as many people saw the twitter/Instagram/facebook/youtube of the banter between the sides then they did the interviews.

Gold Medal One for Canada!! WTG Christine!!

Sadly I've come to expect this line of questioning when it comes to young royals. I agree that a sports network would do a better job on focusing upon the athletes, the games and those involved in the coordinating the events.

"Sports" networks stopped being about sports a long time ago. It's about ratings and they're desperately trying to remain relevant by focusing on human interest pieces instead of sports. Although Invictus has been covered pretty well for something that doesn't relate to the NFL or college football; the two biggest draws for American sports fans.

I have my own struggles going on right now- seizures and severe mental illness. So my dad said look at this thread- get some inspiration. He's pretty smart.

And that's what this venture is all about :) Glad to hear you've been inspired by this great organization and the brave people involved in the games.

The Invictus Games are likely to be staged in Australia in 2018, Sir Keith Mills, the chairman of the event's foundation, says.

Prince Harry would like to bring the Invictus Games back to Britain in 2019.

I know many people will see it differently, but in my opinion Prince Harry should be given the Garter! His tireless work for the servicemen and -women he started some years ago by now, his tremendous work for the crown both at home and abroad justifies that. He gives the monarchy a human, warm hearted face and he really is the sweetheart of the royal family!

I'm not disputing anything in the book but It was written after the fact. I'm just saying that what was said by the government at the time doesn't completely square with the book.

But since the games are about the veterans and not Harry, it shouldn't really matter

It is not you to judge that! If the Prince says, quite correctly, "it is about the veterans, not me!", it is all right and well fitting. If it is you to say that, it is an insult!

I agree with you on how Harry has really put heart and soul into the work he's done for returning service personnel and represents the Queen brilliantly wherever he goes. One thing about what Harry does is that he has a natural ability to make whatever he's doing seem like a breeze and a whole lot of fun.

He was just awarded the KCVO last June by his grandmother so I expect it will be a while yet before he is invested in the Order of the Garter and IMHO, I think it would be more memorable and meaningful if his father invested him.

And now... back to the games.

Yes he most certainly is. I don't think Harry would want any award, for him it's all about the veterans

It will be terrific if the Invictus Games does come to Australia in 2018. It will be even better if it is held in Melbourne, the sporting capital of the Southern Hemisphere!

Whatever one may think of how the media cover Harry at the Invictus games, let alone the questions he has been asked... he has undeniable been given a good press over the past few days in the foreign papers.

The Danish tabloid BT has on every day for the past few days had at least one prominently placed positive story about Harry. They admittedly more or less copy-paste from Daily Mail but it's still good PR.
Here is today's story to illustrate my point: Prins Harry hylder dræbt dansker i rørende åbningstale

The QEII and Harry "bomb" had a couple of minutes on the main news as well. (The Obamas were mentioned too, but less so).
So I'd say he is good ambassador for the Invictus Games.
