Meghan still never said Biden's name. It's all secret ballots for people. She is not on his campaign team. She also said that women should vote which is OK. Meghan is never mentioned on news shows representing left or right. There are much bigger issues and now some are wondering if Trump is testing negative for COVID. It's a weird election year without a titled American citizen's comments cited.

The Sun is reporting that Frogmore Cottage is being readied for a visit by Prince Harry -

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12893055/prince-harry-queen-telling-off-come-home/

Hmmmmmm I still would be very surprised if they’re readying it for Harry. He has to quarantine for 2 weeks, correct? And then quarantine from Meghan and Archie (assuming they are not traveling with him) for two weeks when he gets back, not to mention the time he would be in the UK. Could they be preparing it for another member of the family to move in?

He has to leave the US for tax purposes. Might as well come back to the UK?

I think Frogmore Cottage is the UK base for the Sussexes and will be for their use "forever" acdc1.

There was a discussion a few days ago between Richard Kay, Rebecca English and Robert Lacey in which Ms English said that the original idea had been for Prince Harry to return to the UK once a month for his patronages and charities.

It was almost a de facto way of doing the "half in/half out" that the couple originally proposed.

(Covid stopping it, of course.)

Perhaps part of the prep work for the Duke's visit is to have whatever staff/security he will need, do their own self-isolation before he arrives in a few weeks - so he is not at risk for Covid from them.

I don't think the Duchess and little Archie will be with him. I think he will do his self-isolation and then have meetings, discussions, talks, sign papers to bow out of this and that, and then return to his Montecito home for Christmas.

I think this is either a circuit-breaker, or a visit for some formalities he is still tied to.

Certainly there are "sources" saying the original plan - after the half and half idea was quashed - that say the couple will now "retire" at the end of the review year.

And yes Prinsara, could be why a visit back is needed now.

I don't think he will leave his family for that length of time. then there is that Netflix project which will take some attention.

Nigel Farage (Leader of the Brexit Party) has also weigh in on the matter. He also attached the Daily Mail article

Nigel Farage @Nigel_Farage
Should a Royal Duke and Duchess interfere in the US Presidential election campaign? I don't think so. Congressman Jason Smith has a point.

Very true Erin9- Here is the BBC's article on how Mr. Baker was fired for his remark and the very public consequence that he received for making it.

https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-48212693

Yup, and blaming the entire media for the words of one racist idiot is wrong...

Meghan doesn't seem to have fully grasped the fact that marrying into the BRF entails certain restrictions on her freedoms - not because there are actual rules against these freedoms, but because certain things just are not done (or said). She seems to still want it all - the title, the automatic "respect" she's accorded, the wealth, the privilege - without making any sacrifices. If she feels that she shouldn't have to make these sacrifices, then give up the title - but we all know she won't do that; she loves being a Duchess too much.

Let's see if HM gives Harry a talking to (as referenced in the Sun article)

Attacking baby's and even older children is way over the line in my opinion, how tacky can one get anyway. The only thing I can say about little Archie, he is a mini version of Harry, just cuter.

Absolutely true that it is tacky and over the line which this is why it was appropriate for the BBC to fire Danny Baker for his Twitter comment about Archie.

I think if Meghan really don't want these negative attention and controversies, perhaps she should have just privately vote for Biden and not mention a word on the election or other contentious issue at all. I don't know what other junior members (not working member) of the Royal Family think on controversial issues, because they stay quite and out of it. They might secretly vote for a particular party in UK general/local elections, but I will never know.
While I don't have an issue with Meghan making a single comment encouraging people to vote, I do believe that it would have been better for the Sussexes to limit how often they've done this during an election year. Prince Harry's comments regarding not being able to vote was not a good decision IMHO.

Emma Dent Coad (Former Labour MP for Kensington) has even attacked Prince George for his school jumper, Prince Harry's military record and other members of the Royal Family.?

She is of course a staunch republican/anti-monarchist, socialist and Corbyn supporter.

I am so glad she got voted out in the 2019's general election with a greater majority than she was elected in 2017. Don't get me wrong, it's not her politics, it's the personal insulting comments directed at the Royal Family members and other politicians that I have problem with.

If the Queen has ordered him back is one thing, but if he returns for a while because of TAXES is something else again all together. Wanting all the PERKS because he or both feel they deserve them or are entitled to, is something WHY?. If Meghan wants to vote for B and H, let her she is an American after all. Maybe she should ask him about Tara Read? no answer yet.

I hope HMTQ checks for hidden cameras if they meet. Harry is at the stage where I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to "sell his grandmother"!

Why is the Title constantly used? They are doing this for themself's not for the Q representation. Or do the people who put this on air feel no one else will listen to their podcast if it is only Harry and Meghan??

Actually, if Harry is summoned back to the UK it will be by his grandmother and not HM, The Queen. Harry no longer works for the "Firm" and the Queen is no longer his "boss" so to speak.

If I'm remembering right, Meghan also had to return to the US every so often when she didn't have British citizenship. Harry doing the same is probably a very ordinary thing to do. Not working for the "Firm" doesn't mean that Harry cannot enter the UK whenever he wants. He's a British citizen.

I've always believed that the Sussex family would return to the UK often but not returning to rejoin the "Firm" but basically to visit with friends and family. A *lot* of people do this.

Having a title is *not* dependent on working for the "Firm" and HM, The Queen. The Duke of York no longer works for the "Firm" and retains the title of "Duke".

Yes, other than their titles, they don't have anything else to differentiate themselves with the common celebrities.

However, if HM calls Harry on the carpet for being involved in US politics - or anything else - it will be as not just as grandmother, but as the monarch. He may not be a working Royal, but he’s got a title, so he has to be expected to abide by certain precepts. If he doesn’t want to do so, then he should give up his title - or have it stripped from him. As a grandmother, HM can certainly express her disappointment in Harry...

It would be nice for Harry to see his father and grandparents especially, but I don’t see him returning often for that, especially during the pandemic.

Oddly I was thinking the same :) He might like that privilege

Interesting discussion I seem to have started! It's been good to read all of your different responses. I do agree that the interest in the royals seem to has diminished since the Sussexes left, but after the wedding there was a gained interest in the rest of the royals as a whole because of Meghan - I knew a lot of people who admitted they didn't like the royal family but now that Meghan had married into it, they wanted to learn more about HM and her children, and even the rest of the extended family. I think these might be exceptional but I have noticed a lot of people on Twitter commenting on more royal related news since Meghan and Harry's wedding who wouldn't have otherwise.

Lecturing the whole world about this and that, when she can't even forgive her own father.

I hope the Queen has summoned him!!

To be fair, I do believe she and Harry tried with her father. And sent him a plane ticket in the mail. I don't know what else she could have done since he obviously was more interested in (attention, money) by going to the media. How could she "forgive him" if he kept rushing to the media (and he admitted he got paid for it) saying less than complimentary things about her and Harry to the media. Sad situation but in some cases the person is too stubborn even to listen.

I hope the Queen did not summon him especially since it is still a dangerous time with covid 19. Risky business.

I think and this only me ... that greater respectability has rejoined the British RF since their departure. I have always loved being a country with the Queen as head of state BUT I actually lost interest during that whole horror that was that Sussex period... I really just wish if they want privacy and independence the latter financially the reportedly have that they just move forward and really be quiet.

It is a dilemma. They were criticized for accepting money from Charles. Yet when they did stop accepting money from him and are going to earn their own money, they are criticized still. If they are actively working for charities, they can't keep silent if they are supporting it and have to call attention to it. If they just sat back they would be criticized for doing nothing. And then The COVID 19 situation radically changed the arc of this story.

I think "The Crown" also had a part with that one.

Interesting that the Duchess has said she was returning between official engagements on the South African tour to tend to their son -

https://people.com/royals/meghan-markle-not-okay-breastfeeding-exhaustion/

Same thing happened when they were staying at Admiralty House a few streets away from me here in Sydney.

The couple returned to their quarters a lot between engagements here.

It suprised me at the time that they did it that way, instead of wearing something appropriate for a couple of events, and simply going on from one to another.

I think Megan really struggled with being on show - needed constant breaks from the attention and being on best behaviour.

And that is also why they had friends here with them and took break days/nights.

Meghan was in the early stages of pregnancy on the Australasia tour. I suffered badly from morning sickness early in my pregnancies and certainly wouldn't have wanted to be on show constantly. I also felt tired a lot of the time. And in SA Archie was still being breast fed. Being a nursing mother takes it out of you physically as well. Not to mention facing constant criticism the entire time of the pregnancy and birth, and afterwards, from online trolls and the tabloids.

Thank you for sharing your perspective as a citizen of the UK. I am just so sorry that the Sussexes chose to depart in the manner that they did.
