Moonmaiden23 - Not that many generations ago, Stephanie wouldn't have gotten anywhere near Prince Guillaume. As it is, G's mother is a commoner. You should be happy times have changed.

Why would it concern me one way or another if the Countess de Lannoy had been permitted to marry Guillaume or not? I am not this couples' press agent as you seem to frequently assume.
Even so, I seriously doubt it would have been as difficult for Stephanie to marry Guillaume in 1981 as it would have been for a Kate Middleton of Bucklebury Party Pieces to marry the 2nd in line for the Throne of England that same year.
Just saying.

Maybe.... just maybe they all have decided to leave Harry alone to pursue his love life in private. Waitaminute.... I think the eggnog has gone to my brain.
Nevermind.

If they were in their 20's still I would agree that it may be premature. But they are in their 30's they want to have kids I understand. They perhaps don't want to wait 2-5 years to date in public to marry.
They have been courting but privately and discreetly. They have had dinner dates with Will and Kate and Beatrice and her finacee. So they have been out some.
What we think may be premature may not be what Harry thinks and that is what matters here.

What if he's already proposed!!
I think his grandmother has already given her permission and Harry has proposed to Meghan and she has expected.
I think it's happened already but they are keeping it quite til after the New Year.
I am calling this now!!

That photographer must have been very awkwardly positioned, as I agree with others that all you can see is pavement and car in that world-shattering photo the DM seems so proud of! Usually these photographers are like greased lightning, whether their prey is all bundled up or no!
I'm a great fan of Harry but I have to say that all this hiding away and hole in corner stuff is very celebrity-ish. I'm not blaming Meghan for this, but Harry. It was fair enough, I suppose, to behave like this when this romance was unknown and they were in the very early stages of the relationship. But goodness, they are both single, both in their thirties, in love. The time for dashing outside, head bowed here and 'holed up' there has passed. Since the KP statement the world knows these two are in a relationship. Why not just go out and about together? I'm not saying behave as he and Chelsy did once or twice with PDA's, but just stroll about together to a bar or restaurant or just a walk.
Toronto is, by all accounts, a very casual city, not at all celebrity obsessed. Even in London the two of them out and about would hardly cause a riot! Yes, you would be giving paps and press what they want, and no doubt the first couple of times would mean a large profit for the newspaper or magazine involved. But then everything would settle down to normality. I have to say this bobbing about trying not to be recognised just adds drama and excitement among the media, something Harry is presumably trying to avoid.

I don't think it's too early if they are both sure about their future and their feelings. I have alot of friends who married within a year of meeting each other. It was six months of dating, then a six month engagement. I do think Meghan should spend more time in England, perhaps they could live together when she is not filming.

Maybe.... just maybe Harry and Meghan have already traveled incognito to Vegas and were secretly married by an Elvis impersonator and up next will be the announcement that the couple are expecting a little Elvis.
I gotta lay off the eggnog it seems.

I agree, I don't understand all the hiding etc. he told us she is his girlfriend so why hide. The sooner she starts getting a taste of what life would be married into the BRF the better.

You took the words right out of my mouth! And I must add, both the Prince of Wales and his now spouse - the Duchess of Cornwall - engaged in an adulterous relationship with each other!
The British royals live in a glass house...they can't throw stones at Prince Harry's relationship with Meghan.

"According to sources Harry dashed from the apartment to the car" .... in a hoodie, no less. And yet no picture. How are we supposed to believe any such thing? It would not be the first time that the DM said something that wasn't true. Why accuse Harry of something simply because the DM said so? I think we should wait and see .......

They are waiting for the right time to make their debut as a couple. It's only been a couple of months since they strarted dating. Talking about marriage is way too early right now.

I believe. And the photographed car? And the body guards at the door of the building? Maybe they have pictures, but they are negotiating the moment to show, or he was so fast that there was no time to be photographed
And the story of him having changed his route and gone to Toronto seems to have already been confirmed

Frankly, I can believe that the photographers got no good shots... it's only about 2 or 3 feet from the garage door to the car.. that's a single step if someone's got long legs. And, too, all it would take was the security guy who was holding the pap out of the alley to step in front of the camera lens at the right time to totally block the shot. So there may be photos of the moment that no papers are willing to pay for because they don't actually show anything.
It's also possible they're holding out for a higher payday for those particular shots. Time will tell.

Well Harry was a naughty boy and wasn't supposed to be there, also if he wanted to make it back on time he was on a short timeline. But it seems he was willing to risk it all. I think Harry tries to keep his dates out of the public as long as he can get away with.
I think at this point judging by his demeanor today Harry ain't sorry, he is confident and happy about his choices. I agree that Meghan is a non-negotiable for him.
I do think they need to get their picture taken together.

It's too early right now?? How much is enough time, 5 years?? Come on!! They are in their 30's and they both want kids. Harry is NOT going to wait like Wills and Kate did. The most he'll wait will be year and I doubt he'll wait that long honestly.
They have been dating for almost 7 months, not just a couple.
Ya know, a couple years ago or so I asked if you all 'thought Harry would ever date an American woman and many said no that you doubted he ever would. Well, today he is doing just that and to boot she is biracial.

Louis had to give up his succession rights to marry Tessy not because she was an unwed mother but because she was a commoner - the marriage was morganatic. That's also why Noah doesn't have succession rights; when Louis gave up his, he did so for all his future children.
Friso marries without consent from Parliament, which is why he lost his succession rights automatically when he got married. This was done deliberately, as Mabel's past was seen as something that would hinder the consent from being granted, but still. If Harry were to dash off to Vegas with Meghan and get married he'd lose his succession rights as well for marrying without the permission of the monarch - until not too recently, the marriage wouldn't have been legal. The loss of succession rights is progress for the Brits.
